Dr. and Mrs. Ray O. Brooks will celebrate their golden wedding an-
niversary on Saturday, Aug. 19, from 2 to 4 pjn. A reception hosted by
their children and grandchildren, Mrs. Patty Christian and Craig, and
Mr. and Mrs. Jack Brooks and Amanda, will be held in the parlor at
Calvary Baptist Church. LL Jg. Ray O. Brooks and Mickey Evans
were married on Sept 8, 1945, nt the home of the bride's parents in
Corsicana with the Rev. J.E. Glenn of Dallas, unde of the bride,

Amy Leanne Both rod Donald Morgan Clinton were united in marriage on
July 22 at 5 p.m. in the smetuary of Cedar Grove Baptist Church.
The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Marlin Bush of Carthage and the
granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Joe Gibson and the late DX. DeWitt of Kilgore
and Mr. and Mrs. Floyd Bush of Carthage. The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs.
Hubbard "Bubba" Clinton of Carthage and the grandson of the late Mr. and Mrs.
Walter Wedgeworth of Carthage and the late Mr. and Mrs. Curtis Clinton of
Henderson.
The Rev. Freddy Mason officiated the double-ring ceremony while family and
close friends witnessed the joyous event The sanctuary was illuminated with a
15-light fan candelabrum and four 15-light spiral candelabra. The fan was adorned
with minuet roses, stargazer lilies, and cream alstromeria lilies along with baby's
breath and greenery. The four spiral candelabra were accented with hot pink and
light pink miniature carnations along with baby's breath and greenery. The main
aisle of the church was lined with candle pew markers adorned with dendrobrium
orchids, hot pink miniature carnations, baby's breath and greenery, each marker
tied with white tulle bows.
Musicians were Mrs. Jenice Fitts of Palestine, organist; Mrs. Karon O'Neal of
Carthage, pianist; Mrs. Toni Moseley and Mr. Rob Anthony of Carthage, soloists.
Music for the ceremony included "Wind Beneath My Wings" and "The Lord's
Prayer."
Given in marriage by her father, the bride wore a designer gown of white satin
which featured intricate beadwork on the bodice and short capped sleeves. The
gown was enhanced with a foil satin skirt that flowed into a semi-cathedral train.

halo of baby's breath and hot pink and light pink miniature carnations.
The best man was the groom's father. The usher and candlelighter was Mark
Davis of Carthage, brother-in-law of the bride. The men wore traditional Hack
tuxedoes with black bowties and vests. The groom chose the same style tuxedo

Following the ceremony, a reception was held in the fellowship hall. Cascades

be is a 1991 graduate of Humble High School, where she was named to
the All-State basketball team. She received a bachelor of arts degree in
kinesiology and economics from Southwestern University in 1995,
where she was a fonr-year basketball letterman and captain. She also
lettered in cross-country and served as president of Alpha Kappa Psi
business fraternity. The prospective bridegroom is a 1991 graduate of
White Oak High School, where he lettered in football and baseball and
received All-East Texas recognition in baseball. He received a bachelor
of arts degree in kinesiology from Southwestern University in 1995,
where be lettered in baseball and cross-country and was recognized as
an NCAA Division HI Academic All-American. The couple will pursue
their masters' degrees at Auburn University in the fall, where they
have accepted graduate teaching assistantships.

The best man was Royce Strickland from Houston. The ushers were
Terry Rider of Arlington, brother of the bride. Dale Layton of Chireno,
brother of the groom, and Gerald Murray of Chireno. The groom wore a
black tailed tuxedo with a white vest and bowtie. The best man and ushers
wore black tailed tuxedoes with white vests and Hack bowties.
The church altar was decorated with a creative combination of
candelabra adorned with English ivy and an arrangement of stargazer
lilies, Casablanca lilies and red roses. The altar rails were decorated with
large arrangements of the same flowers. Banks of Boston ferns completed
the altar decoration.
The wedding music was provided by John Schoerock of Nacogdoches,
who sang "Keeper of the Stars."
A reception honoring the couple followed the ceremony at die Banita
Ballroom in the Fredonia Hotel. The room was decorated with Boston
fems and arrangements of lilies and roses. The bride's table was covered
with a white linen cloth surrounded by a hunter green linen skirt. The
cake was a three-tiered white confection on a spiral stand, decorated with
stargazer lilies and red roses. The bride's bouquet centered the table.
The groom's table was covered with a floor-length hunter green linen
doth. The groom's cake was German chocolate accented with red roses.
The servers were Shannon Short of Elysian Fields, Tanya Jenson of
