Leroy Belk, whose precinct includes

could not lie reached for a comment
on the letter which was circulated to
commissioners Monday
State health officials have said tor
several years the only solution to the
problems created by septic tanks in
congested areas is the construction
of sewage treatment plants to serve
those areas and end the use of septic
tanks
Coastal soils are especially un
suited to septic tanks because ol the
closeness of the water table to Un-
surface and the basic impermeabili
ty of the day soils
