Rain Friday and again Tues-
of day kept cotton pickers out of
fields the greater part of the past,
— I week. The crop, already late from
■“ weather conditions at planting
time, was pushed further behind
I by the moisture. Scattered show-
ers during September prevented
workers from gathering much of
■ the crop. The rain also lowered
i the grade of the cotton.
