Walter Rodgers of Dallas was
best man. He was a former
room mate of the groom.
Mrs. Roberts chose for her
daughter’s wedding a two-piece |
soie, with matching accessories
and an ivory cymbidium orchid
corsage. The bridegroom’s
mother wore a peach lace dress
with white accessories and a
white cymbidium orchid cor-
sage.
A reception followed in the
Harris home. The. bride’s table
was laid with a white cutwork
cloth, centered with an arrange-
ment of flowers of mixed colors.
The white tiered wedding cake,
topped with two white cherubs,
completed the table decora-
tions.
The groom’s table was laid
with a green linen cloth cen-
tered with wine and green flow-.
erS. Coffee was served from a
copper samovar and chocolate
cake was served from copper
trays. Members of the house
party were Miss Marietta Bar-
entine of Austin, sister of the
groom; Miss Judy Rach and
Mrs. Frank Smith, both of
Orange; Mrs. Bruce Smith of
Kemah and Mrs. C. A. Durbar?
of Bellaire.
The bride is a graduate oi
North Texas State University
where she was a Chi Omega
University Players and Mary
Arden Club. She is an English
teacher in the Dallas school
system. The bridegroom is a
graduate of NTSU, with a deg-
ree in Business Administra-
tion, and is a member of Delta
Sigma Pi. He is employed by
Collins Radio Company of Dal-
ia..
The couple took a wedding
trip to New Orleans and Nassau
in the Bahamas. ::

peau de soie A-line gown with
a cape collar of matching silk
organza. Her headdress was a •
peau de soie Dior bow and her
bride’s aunt and uncle, Mr. and bouquet was a cascade of spring
Mrs. Gus Harris in Orange at flowers of mixed colors.
2 p.m. The Rev. Ray Loden,
pastor of the First Methodist
Church of Orange, was the offi-
ciating minister.
Mrs. Barentine is the former
, Miss Annell Roberts, daughter suit of mauve lace over peaude
of Mrs. Henry David Roberts
and the late Mr. Roberts of
Orange, formerly of Sherman.
• . The bridegroom’s parents are
Mr. and Mrs. Andy A. Baren-
tine, formerly of Corsicana,
now of Austin. He is the grand-
son of Mrs. Nannie B. Cherry,
Sanger, and a nephew of Alma
Cherry, Lockett and Pete
Cherry, all of Sanger.
The improvised altar was
against a background ofmagno-
1 lia boughs. A nine-candle
branch candalabra, decorated
with ivory stock and English
ivy, was to the right of the
altar. Completing the decor was
• a miniature magnolia tree con-
structed of boughs.
Given in marriage by her
uncle. Mr. Gus Harris, the
bride’s costume was a formal-
' length fitted sheath of ivory
peau de sole and featured a
jacket of ivory re-embroidered
alencon lace beaded with seed
pearls, with a belted front and
flow back. The headdress was a
tiered veil of imported silk
illusion appliqued with beaded
lace caught to a fringed Dior
bow. The dress was an original
design by the bride and was
made by the bride’s mother.
She carried a cascade bouquet
of gardenia^ and English ivy.

Miss Voss, a teacher, is attend-
ing T.W.U. at Denton this sum-
mer.

Mrs. Lewis Diepenhorst was
named honoree at a come and
go stork shower in the home of
Mrs. Ralph Amyx, Tuesday
from 3 until 4;30 pjn. *
Co-hostesses for the “blue”
party were Mmes. James Char-
les. JohnD. Springer, Bill Hicks
and Jimmy Sebastian.
Refreshments of punch
cookies and nuts were served
from a lace-covered cloth, cen-
tered with a blue and white
flower arrangement. Thirty
friends called during the party
hours.
