successful season with more
boys participating than ever

sister and brother-in-law, Mr.
and Mrs. Otto Lewis, her
brother and wife, Mr. and Mts.
Claude Hill and son, Don, all
of Sulphur, Oklahoma.

Mrs. Elsie Jirasek attended
funeral services for her sister-
in-law,, Mrs. Emma Bernard
at Taylor, Sunday August 25th
at 4 p. m.
Mrs. Bernard, 82, of Thorn-
dale, Milam County, died dur-
ing her sleep sometime early
Friday. She was visiting at the
home of her sister Mrs. Ann
Gardner in Gainesville. She is
survived by six sisters. She was
a s i s t e r of the late O. c.
(Conley) lirasek of Sanger.

of Gainesville, Mount Zion
Community, father of Mrs.
G. C. Powers, were held Sun-
day, August 18th in Ml Zion
Baptist Church. Burial was in
Nt. Zion Cemetery.
Mr. Cox, 86, was a well
known Cooke County farmer
and stockman. He died at his
home on Friday, August 16th
after a long illness. His wife
died in July.x
Survivors besides M is. Powers
were five sons, four daughters,
one brother and four sistea.

The individuals who worked
with the Little League would
like to thank those who made
this season a good one.
A total $1326.04 was spent and Jack Armstrong worked to
this year. The largest portion,
$709.85, was used for the pur-
chase of new uniforms. This
expense will not reoccur every
year because plans are to
spread the buying of re place-
nent uniforms out over several
years so this amount of money
will not need to be raised at
one time. * r
