Ideas for Summer
That good old stand-by, the electric fan, can help you save
money on air conditioning.

Window and Exhaust Fans
In an open area, window fans are very effective, or use your
fan for exhausting moist air from the bathroom or kitchen.
Ceiling Fans
A ceiling fan can help too. By moving air, the effect of
evaporation makes you feel more comfortable at warmer
temperatures. And. it only uses about the same amount of
electricity it takes to light a 15-watt light bulb.

Whole House Fans
In the heat of the night when temperatures are at or below
82 degrees, whole house fans can be the ticket to savings of
up to 50 percent on your cooling costs. Exhaust the warm,
stale air by putting one in your attic (if you have good attic
ventilation), or the central hall or stairway.

Portable Fans
Place a portable fan facing away from your window air con-
ditioning unit to help spread the cool air around. The fan helps
move cool air into other rooms and down hallways. Just as
hot air rises, cool air sinks to the floor, so put the portable
fan on the floor for best results.

Enthusiasm was everywhere Monday. Coach Dubberly •
and his staff have given the Sanger players renewed
enthusiasm and all you could hear was "it’s fun football.*’
Hard to say you’re having fun when it’s 100 degrees. |
The only lettermen not returning was Bo Cooper, who |
told the Courier Tuesday that he would try out for football
at Denton High School. His parents are in the process of
moving to Denton.
Morning workouts begin at 8 a.m. until 11 a.m. and then |
again from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. ,
Dubberly will break with tradition this Friday; instead ;
of the regular Puple-Gold game, practice will begin at 4 ’
p.m. with a scrimmage from 5:15 to 6:15. Players and
cheerleaders will be served with ice-cold watermelon right I
after the scrimmage. Parents and supporters are invited
to see the new 87 Indians.
The only bad news on the football scene was a knee
injury to sophomore Larry Frazier last Friday. Frazier
dislocated a knee cap and will be out for three wefcks.
Frazier is one of the contenders for the quarterback
position.
Coach Dubberly was impressed with the players. “I’m
excited, the kids are in good physical shape and their
attitude is great. We've had two good days of practice."
The Indians* first scrimmage is set for Friday, August
21, against Anna. Indian followers are going to like what |
they see.
