The Rev. Boyce
Brannon, pastor of
church and Dr. T. V. Farris,
unde of the bride, per
formed the ceremony.
Parents of the bride are
Mr. and Mrs. Jan Farris of
Denton. The groom is the
son of Mrs. A. G. Monschke
of Krum and the late A. G.
Monschke.
The bride was given in
marriage by her father. She
was attended by maid oi
honor Sharon Earwood and
bridesmaids Sheila Craw-
ford and Teresa Williams,
cousin of the bride.
Larry Monschke served his
brother as best man.
Groomsmen were Jim For

Melissa Standifer, the

cities, the couple will live in
Denton.
The bride is a graduate of
Denton High School and
attended Abilene Christian
College. She attends North
Texas State University and
is employed by Russell’s
Dept. Store.
A Sanger High School
graduate, the grrom is also a
student at NTSU. He is
employed by the University
Church of Christ in Denton.
A rehearsal dinner was
held in the Bible Chair
Annex in Denton, hosted by
the groom’s parents.
Parties and Showers
The bride was honored
with a brunch at the Ramada
Inn in Denton, hosted by
Mrs. Debra Magee of
Denton.
A tea was given in the
home of Miss Rena Ebert.
Favorite recipes were sha-
red with the bride.
The couple was honored

Andra Tucker of Route 1 in
Sanger was among 150 high
school debaters from eight
states who participated in
the recent two-week Sum-
mer Debate Workahop at
Texas Christian University
in Fort Worth.
Students from Arkansas,
Oklahoma, Miasouri, Neb-
raska, Kanaaa, Georgia,
Alabama and Texas were
divided ^into teams for
practice debates on next
year's high school topic,
“Resolved: That the Crimi-
nal Justice System Should
Be Significantly Changed.”
Under direction of work
shop coordinator Rita Rice
Flaningam of Southwest
Missouri State University,
debaters received instruc-
tion in proposition analysis,
supervised research, use of
evidence, rebuttal, organi
zation and cross-examina
tion.

'The Gribble Springs Bap
tist Church men’s softball
loam took a hard fought
game from the Sanger
United Methodist Church
Men last Thursday, August
19.
The Gribble Springs bunch,
tided by friends Francis
West, David Hammons and
Doug Parkhill beat the
Methodist 21 to 15.
Marland Knight was the
big scorer for the Gribble
Springers, hitting a home
run and making four scores.
Sammy Enlow also hit a
home run while scoring
twice for the winning side.
Vic George and Hammons
both scored three runs.
Others scoring for the
winners were Ted Rue, Clint
Ashby, Kenneth George,
Johnny George, West, Jerry
Jones and Parkhill. Ashby
and Rue shared pitching
honors.
The losers were led by Bill
Smith who scored three
times, Frank Smith, Russell
Madden, Ken Swindle,
Larry Bell and Danny
McDaniel who each made
two runs. One of Swindle’s
runs was a home run. Others
on the Methodist team were

August 12 in Latrobe
Pennsylvania at the Church

They will be at the Sanger
Car Wash on North Fifth
Street from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Baptist Church in Denton,
Saturday, August 21 in a 3
p.m. ceremony.
Parents of the couple are
Mr. and Mrs. John R. Masch
of Denton and Mr. and Mrs.
R. C. Marshall of Sanger.
Joe Marshall, brother of
the groom and associate
minister of Pioneer Park
Church of Christ in Lubbock
performed the ceremony.
Given in marriage by her
father, the bride wore an
ivory formal gown of
organza over satin featuring
a V-yoke and high stand-up
V-neckline of emboridered
lace accented with pearls.
The long fitted sleeves were
of the same lace and ended
in ruffled cuffs. Bustle type
fullness in the back formed a
chapel train. Her picture hat
which she designed and
made herself, was covered
with matching lace and
organza with seed pearl trim
and chapel length streamers
falling from a back arrange-
ment of flowers. She carried
a bouquet of peach rosebuds,
bridle wreath and lillies of
the valley.
For something old, the
bride wore a tucked eyelet
trimmed petticoat designed
and made by her maternal
grandmother and worn at
her own wedding in 1907.
The bride also wore a cameo
necklace that once belonged
to her great great grand
mother.
Maid of honor was Janna
Masch, sister of the bride.
Edie Beck, cousin of the
bride was junior bridesmaid.
They wore matching gowns
of coral rust, trimmed with
ivory lace and carried
nosegays of gardenias.
Monica Price of Sulphur
Springs, cousin of the bride
was flower girl. Candle-
lighters were Christi Deal of
Denton, Scott and Brady
Shirley of Tyler, all cousins
of the bride. Ring bearer
was Jason Stevenson of
Denton.
Best man was Steve Short
of Oklahoma. Junior grooms
man was Rush T. Shirley of
Tyler, cousin of the bride.
