A barbecue and Beard-growing
Contest are to be the highlights of
Roundup Week sponsored by the
Cen-Tex Aggie Club, May 1-6, ac-
cording to Odie Windham, chair-
man for the event.
The barbecue is to be Thursday,
May 4, at 5 p.m. on the Daniel
Baker College Campus. There will
be entertainment along with Judg-
ing of the Beard-growing Contest.
Transportation in the form of a
chuck wagon will be provided by
the Cen-Tex Aggies, Windham
stated.
Other events scheduled for the
week are Monday, Pig Scramble;
ROSES IN TEXAS-^-Roses are plentiful on the fence which bearded Odie Windham uses for
support while talking with Rising Star freshman Bennie Sue Morris about the forthcoming
Roundup Week. Western duds are to be part of the scenery for the five days beginning May 1.
Roundup Week, first one on the campus in recent years, is being handled by Cen-Tex Aggies.
Senate Talks Money

Discussion centering around the
proposed Student Association bud-
get for the 1961-62 college year was
the main attractive item of business
for senate Tuesday night
Treasurer Ric Condra read the
various phases of the budget and
was questioned) about the' $100 al-
location for movies by Junior Sen-
ator John dill.
Shirley (Crunch) Crenshaw, stu-
dent association vie e-president
elect, presiding in the absence of
president Bob Eaton, directed the
question to incoming President Ed

C6ndra had previously explained
that Treasurer-elect Oris Smith and
Markham had assisted with the
tentative budget
Markham stated that the money
is set asidie for plans — which he
emphasized are also not definite —
of having six to nine "top-level"
movies on campus. He explained
costs of building a large portable
screen for Coggin Chapel and
stated that a "screening board"
would select good movies. Mark-
ham also spoke of plans for having
nationally-known entertainers on
campus.
The budget however, is only
tentative and is yet to be approved
by the administration before pre-
sentation to the Senate and the
student body.
May 1 Deadline
Set For Elections
All club members and organi-
zational bodies are reminded that
officers for the coming year mast
he elected by May 1, according- to
the Student Association constitu-
tion.
Science Club Calls
May 1 Meeting
To Elect Officers
Election of officers for the
coming year is the reason for
the May 1 allied meeting of the
Science Club in the Bell Club
room at 7 pan.
According to Paul Maui, re-
freshments will be served follow-
ing the meeting.
Man! also reports that the
Science Club picnic Is set for
May 13, 2 p.m. at State Park.
Anyone with 25 cents wishing to
go shoald contact Eddie Davis,
Wayne ftrant, Noel Cowan, Rob-
ert Lin or Liz Mifflin.
Tuesday, Goat Tying; Wednesday,
Circuit Court, and Friday, Milking
Contest and Tobacco Spitting Con-
test.
All contests begin at 6 each even-
ing and will be in the area behindi
the gym.
The Pig Scramble is open to all
students. A special scramble also
will be held for the presidents of
all organizations.
The Goat Tying Contest is just
for women students.
The only qualification for the
Milking Contest is to have never
milked a cow prior to entering the
contest.
The Tobacco Spitting Contest is
open to everyone. The record for
all previous contests in this field
is 23 feet andi 9 inches.
Dress requirements for the week
are that women students must wear
at least two western articles each
day and the men students at least
three western articles. Prizes will
be awarded to the best dressed)
woman and man at the barbecue
Thursday, according to Windham.
Four other women and four other
men will be recognized as among
the best dressed.
During the week a jail and' water
tank are to be set up for violators.
A sheriff with a large force of
deputies, a hangman's noose • and
Boot Hill are features of the week.
The Student Center will be dec-
orated to carry out the western
theme and will be the scene for
the Circuit Court Wednesday night.
Morality Produdion Sets Stage
To Present Story of 'Everyman'
"I pray you all give your audi
ence,
And hear this matter with rev-
erence,
By figure a morality play:
The Summoning of Everyman
called it is, . . . "
These are the opening lines of
the morality play, "Everyman," to
be presented Thursday and Friday
April 27-28, in Coggin Chapel The-
atre, 8 p.m.
This religious play has charmed
audiences since it was written in
the sixteenth century.
It is the tragic story of Every-
man who is summoned by God and
discovers that he must make the
journey with only Good Deeds for
a companion.
Everyman is portrayed by Mike
Bennett; Good Deeds by Sharon
Rozell.
The cast included: Joe Gwathmey
as Messenger; Phil Browning as
God (Adonai); Guy Roberts, Death;
Jack Stevens, Fellowship; Kenneth
Ross, Cousin; Karen Coppock, Kin-
dred; Tommy Plummer, Goods.
Also in the production are Avery
Wilson as Discretion; Joysan
Beene, Five Wits; Joyce Malouf,
Beauty; Janie Justice, Knowledge;
Judy Short, Confession; Daniel
Sanchez, Angel; Joe Gwathmey,
Doctor; and Sally Davis as
Strength.
The same evening, "The Boor,"
by Anton Tchekoff will be pre-
sented. This comedy's cast Includes
Joysan Beene as Helena Ivanovna
Popov, Mike Bennett as Grigori
Spepanovitch Smirnov and Ric
Condra as Luk.

Moore is assistant to the director,
