RABBI SEGALS COLUMN
• Individual Kiddush cups of wine.
• Challah for everyone for the Hamotzee.
• Shabbat blessings for each child from his parents.
• A blessing from the rabbi for each February
birthday child.
In the past, we have had the good fortune of sharing our
Bar Mitzvah (1971) with Aaron and Dianna Dushkin and
(1973) with Bernie and Bernadine Rosenblatt. Now it is our
good fortune to share our simchah, Lisa’s Bat Mitzvah, with
Pincus and Helen Brounes who will be celebrating the Bar
Mitzvah of their son Ronnie. “Pink” and Helen have not only
been neighbors but also friends, and therefore it is truly a
pleasure to share this happy event with them. Our children
have grown up together and now they will be Bar and Bat
Mitzvah together.
Therefore, Toby and I would like to take this opportunity
to extend a personal invitation to each member of our congre-
gation and to all of our friends to share with us this happy
occasion and to be present at Beth Yeshurun Friday even-
ing and Saturday morning, January 23 - 24 and to join us at
the receptions that will follow each service. We truly hope
that you will be able to be with us since a simchah only be-
comes complete when one has his friends with him to share
the happiness of the moment.
We truly hope that you will place those two dates on your
calendar — Friday and Saturday, January 23 - 24. Thanks.
. . . Rabbi Jack Segal
In 1971, Toby and I had the good fortune of seeing our
eldest son, Jeffrey, be Bar Mitzvah. In 1973, we once again
celebrated a Bar Mitzvah — for our son Michael. This year
(January 23 - 24) we will celebrate our first Bat Mitzvah —
for our daughter Lisa. In fact, this is the first time our
family has had a Bat Mitzvah and therefore it will be a spe-
cial simchah for us.
DADS! MOMS! Come straight from work and
worship with your families . . . then enjoy a leisurely
dinner and evening at home after services.
WELCOME TO THESE NEW MEMBERS . . .
Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Goldstein, Mr. and Mrs. Louis
Rosen, and Irving Levinson. May their association with Con-
gregation Beth Yeshurun be comfortable, warm and spiri-
tually uplifting.
AND CONGRATULATIONS TO . . .
Mr. and Mrs. Howard Bazarsky on the birth of a daugh-
ter .. . and to E. Stanley Topek who was certified by the
State Bar of Texas as a Criminal Law Specialist.
(More Family Album next week when our keeper of the Family
