The six million Jews of the United States, Canada, Puerto
Rico, and Mexico look to the Jewish Theological Seminary
of America for inspiration and education. They are not dis-
appointed. The influence of the Jewish Theological Seminary
is felt in many parts of the world, including Israel.
Seminary graduates hold pulpits in distant places and
positions as teachers and lecturers in many great Universi-
ties. Seminary Cantors, educators and teachers are in-
fluencing Jewish children in all parts of the world.
The Seminary’s Jewish Museum is open to all who wish to
view ceremonial and modern art.
The Seminary’s Library of Judaica is the largest in the
world, and is used by scholars of all faiths.
In addition to supporting the Matilde Schecter Dormitory
for Seminary students, a new residence hall has been pur-
chased which will enable and encourage more students to
study at the Seminary to meet the growing needs in Con-
servative Judaism.
It is the duty of every Synagogue member to consider it a
privilege to support the Jewish Theological Seminary of
America; to keep Conservative Judaism vibrant.
Watch for details of the Torah Fund affair December 5th.

MEN S CLUB NEWS
by Jeffrey Mayper, Men’s Club President
On behalf of Beth Yeshurun Men’s Club may I take this
opportunity to wish our members, young and old, a happy
and healthy New Year.
“Young” and “old,” these two segments of our congrega-
tion, so diverse yet so integrally important to the successful
functioning of our Men’s Club. I believe that the older mem-
bers of our organization are like the sages, elders and teach-
ers. These members offer advice and guidance to our Men’s
Club. Our young adults are the students, whose desires and
ambitions carry out the varied functions necessary to our
success. These younger members learn leadership and
eventually will become elders, again teaching other new
members in years to come. Thus there is a continuing and
strengthening chain.
As president, I ask your support and advice in our efforts
to make this organization a respected and productive branch
of our synagogue.
