Reinvest in Israel
at Beth Yeshurun on
Saturday Evening, March 14
(Purim Eve)
In 1973, following the desperate crisis of the Yom
Kippur War, you and a million other Jews rallied
behind Israel by buying Israel Bonds. Perhaps you’ve
forgotten you had them . . . it’s money you haven’t even
missed!
Now, Israel is in desperate economic need, and your
old Bonds can save the day. Simply reinvest your 1973
(or 1972) Bond by purchasing a new Israel Bond with a
higher value, and Israel will pay as much as 22 months
extra interest!
So, bring your Bonds to Beth Yeshurun on Purim Eve,
March 14, and meet with a representative of the Bond
Organization in the synagogue lobby. It’s a wonderful
financial opportunity for you, and it’ll be a tremendous
boost for Israel, too.
Financial Flash!
YOUR 15—YEAR-OLD ISRAEL
BONDS CAN EARN 22 MONTHS
OF EXTRA INTEREST IF YOU
REINVEST NOW!

HONORED GUESTS:
1) All Those Who Have Gone On A.S.T.R.O.
Trips To Israel, and
2) Members of the Chavurah Bikkur Group
In 1973, the Beth Yeshurun A.S.T.R.O. (Adult
Synagogue Trip Religious Oriented) Program was
formed. Since then, Rabbi & Toby Segal have led
approximately 500 people on the annual Beth Yeshurun
trips to Israel.
Cards have gone out to all those who have participated
in these trips requesting that they be present on March
15 to honor the women of the 1986 trip who were Bat
Mitzvah on Masada and the one man who was Bar
Mitzvah in the main Conservative synagogue in
Jerusalem. They will be given certificates of Bar/Bat
Mitzvah at the service. Present at this service will also
be the 15 who will be leaving for Israel on March 18 as
part of the A.S.T.R.O. XIV group.
Also present at the March 15 service will be the
Chavurot Bikkur group formed by Rabbi Grundfast
several years ago. This group consists of approximately
30 men and women who regularly visit patients in our
hospitals and bring them flowers and challahs on
Fridays. They fulfill the mitzvah of Bikkur Cholim
(visiting the sick), and the patients truly appreciate the
Shabbat gifts presented to them. In this manner patients
know that Beth Yeshurun is deeply interested in their
welfare and recuperation.
