here to visit and boost our
local economy. I believe you
can bring in chain restaurants
such as Chic-Fil-A or Texas
Roadhouse and keep the small-
town vibe.
I would like to see
expansion with more youth-
friendly activities such as a
water park and recreational
center or something like a
pleasure pier, which would
include more outdoor
hangouts for all age groups.
I think we can get to a
place where we spur economic
growth through partnering
driving this interest in our
community and we have new
housing subdivisions on the
horizon. Council, city staff
and I have all worked hard to
bring about this new lift to the
community with incentives to
speed up the building of the
infrastructure required of the
developers.
The bay front in Port
Lavaca has been an integral
part of our five-year capital
planning projects. While
we have done extensive
improvements to the Wilson
Park sports facility, we

attractions to not only better
our town, but our economy

Communication across
the community will be
effective, issues will be
debated openly, and citizens
will be confident in a
responsive and decisive town

To share in a unique
small town feel with a new
revitalized outlook is my goal.
This is only achieved with the
willingness of the voters.

The City Council and I
are working hard with the
Chamber of Commerce to
make the city a great place to
live for all our citizens and to
enhance tourism. Using hotel
occupancy tax funds we are
able to support entertainment
events, which bring us visitors
from around the State. Some
of these are Iguana Fest,
Fourth of July celebrations,
summer concert series, Flip-
Flop Festival and Christmas
festivities.

you say that your life has

think so.

waterfront was devastated
but is rapidly recovering with
rebuilding projects. The city’s
healthy reserves have been
instrumental in facilitating
this rebuilding. We are
fortunate to have had dedicated
financial planning over the last
15 years. My vision is to keep
the city financially stable and
make Port Lavaca a safe and
fun place to live and raise a

would be an honor to continue
serving this great city.

the number of in-patients
at MMC and would boost
revenue.
New nurses specialized
in geri-psychiatrics would be
hired, a psychiatrist, possibly

could be retained and local
physicians would also be
utilized, Anglin said.
“We’re always looking at

The CEO said Diamond
