IN MEMORIUM.
On the 9th of July, 1925, the spirit
of Annie McCamly Moore passed
from this earth, her mother having
preceded her just nineteen days.
She had been living in San An-
tonio for about four years and dur-
ing much of that time had been in
ill health.
She was born in the old town of
Matagorda February 3, 1874, and
spent the greater part of her life in
Matagorda County. When quite
young she united with the Episcopal
Church and was ever a consistent
member. Her heart was always open
to the calls of those in distress and
she was always ready to minister to
their wants.
Possessed of a fine sense of humor
and of a lively disposition, she was
a pleasant companion along life’s
highway and helped to brighten
many an otherwise gloomy day. She
was married to S. S. (Kirk) Moore
on the 30th of January, 1895, at Mata-
gorda, where they lived for a time
but afterwards moved to Bay City.
In her passing, a great void is left
in the hearts of those who loved her
and they often sigh for “The touch
of a vanished hand, the sound of a
voice that is still.”

grounder, and
Kirk fdjuled
knocked a long fly to center which
A. White dropped, and Hawkins,
Lawhon and Serrill scored. McPeak
ended it by flying to A. White. A hit
and stolen base by Creditor and a
hit by Hawkins added the eighth
score for Texas Gulf in the sixth.
Bay City gathered in two more in
the seventh. Brand, safe when Ater
droppe dhis fly to right, went out
at second on J. White’s grounder.
Hudson go on by
Serrill’s error, and he and J. White
both scored when Serrill let a couple
of more get away from him.
Serrill was first up for Texas
Gulf in their half of the seventh, and
proceeded to get one of the two runs
back by parking the ball for the cir-
cuit. Macura overthrew first and
Kirk went on to second, then to
third on a wild pitch by Hudson and
scored on Ater’s single. Score, 10
to 5.
In the eighth Wright led off for
Bay City by parking the ball, but had
to stop at third base. A White sin-
gled to center, Wright scoring. Brand
and J. White grounded out, Richards
singled and Hudson ended it when
Hawkins made a nice catch of his
short drive towards shortstop.
In their half of the eighth Texas
Gulf added two more. Brand fumbled
Creditor’s grounder, and Creditor
went on to second when he over-
threw first base. Groves grounded
out to Richards, unassisted, Creditor
going to third. Hawkins singled and
Creditor scored. Hawkins safe at
second on Lawhon’s out, and scored
©n- Serrill’s two-bagger. Kirk hit
■one to right which looked good for a
hit, but Savage got under it for the
third out.
In the ninth, with the score 12 to
7, Bay City dug in for some more.

his offerings. Fimble fanned
and Hudson four, and the latter
Walked two and hit two batsmen
While the former hit one and issued
no passes. Both teams were suffer-
ing from “off-day”11 in the fielding
department, otherwise the scoring on
both sides would probably have been
less. But at that, Bay City managed
to pull off three double-plays which
helped considerably in holding down
the scoring.
Serrill led in batting, getting a
home run, two-bagger and single out
Of five trips to the pan. The feature
hits were Serrills home run and
three-baggers by Wright and Law-
hon. Both Serrill’s and Wright’s
heavy licks went over the fence and
the latter’s looked good for the cir-
cuit also but agility by Creditor in
Vaulting the fence and returning the
ball held Wright at third.
Krause, of Bay City, turned an
ankle in the fourth and had to get
out of the game in the fifth,
Texas Gulf lent Savage to Bay City
to finish out the game.
The first scoring was in the sec-
ond inning when Bay City put
across when Brand reached first on
A. White’s force-out at second, stole
second and scored on an infield fly
which fell safe between Fimble and
Kirk. Bay City added two more in
the fourth. Krause singled. Wright
sacrificed him to second. A. White
reached first on fielder’s choice, the
play being made for Krause at third,
who slid under the throw. Brands
grands grounded out, Hawkins to
Lawhon, Krause scoring. A White,
having gone down to second, going
to third on the play.

Scored.
In their half of the fourth Texas
Gulf tied it by sending three across.
Groves singled. Hawkins hit by
pitched ball. Lawhon hit for three
bases, scoring Groves and Hawkins.

Dear Mr. Smith:
“Will you kindly forward The
Daily Tribune to the above address?
I am delighted that Bay City is en-
joying a prosperous fall season. I
have no doubt that Texas people are
turning their eyes toward the coast
country.
Central and East Tennessee is
dry. Late crops are failing. Pas-
tures are white, and many beautiful
trees ,are dying.
With kindest regards, I am,
Sincerely yours,
• W. E. MORELAND.
