Ing wonderfully.
He is not yet a member but
attends all services regularly. He
is employed by the Philippine De-
partment of Interior, which is
equal to the State Department in
the U. S. He has shown me several
letters covering a period of at
least 15 yars concerning his work
which shows him to be a very
trusted employee. His authority
here in Zamboanga City at pre-
sent is greater, than that of the
mayor. There was a record at-
tendance of 65 on Lord's day
morning, April 8th.
Preparations have been in pro-
gress during the past two weeks
to start a new congregation In an _
inland community away from the
main road where there are about
20 members ad it is difficult to
come to present places of worship.
This place is Malaguti.
They are to begin worshiping *
here on Sunday afternoon, May
2. Brother Granaderos of Busugan
is to do the preaching for a few
Lord's days until I can arrange
my schedule to take care of it, or
some other permanent arrange-
ment can be made.
During the past month there
have been two baptisms at Hasa-
gan where the new congregation
has recently been started. And
there has been one confession of
wrongs at Zamboanga City. Teach-
ing that Is now beipg done should
result in al number of other bap-
tisms before long. We appreciate
your continued prayers on this
war.

do something abdut this matter.
We have undertaken the task of
building a house that will be an
asset to the community and one
that will speak well of the church.
It will be simple in style, but com-
modious and adapted to all the
needs of the church.
The old building |s to be razed
and the new built on the ’same
lot. The location is on a bus line
and many new homes have been
built around it since and during
the war. The deed for the prop-
erty is so made that it can never
be taken over by the dlgressives,
or any sect or party. The con-
gregation is free from hobbles and
in good standing with all the sis-
ter congregations tn this area
The cost of the house complet-
ed has been estimated at approxi-
mately twenty thousand dollars. IL

The Church of Christ at Log-
ansport is very eager to build a
new meeting house, believing that
it would be an important factor
in advancing the work here.
The city of Logansport is the
county seat of Cass county. It
has a population of more than
twenty thousand people. The land
surrounding the city is rich and
fertile, and there are industrial
plants that employ several hund-
red people.
It would seem that it is a place

Dear Brethren:
The congregation here is very
small with only about twelve (12)
regular members. We are planning
a Gospel meeting, and would like
to have you publish an ad in your
paper requesting any congrega-
tion having a tent that we could
borrow or rent to get in touch
with us.
We are planning to,build in the
near future on our lots here, and
would like to know if any congre-
gation has plans for a building
that will seat from one hundred
fifty to one hundred seventy-five.
If so we would like to hear from
them.
The church address is Box
Sidney, Nebraska.
Thanking you
your assistance.

fact we are using much of the
lumber from the old building. The
church, though small in number
(mecabenihlp thirty-five) and hav-
ing no wealth has raised ten
thousand dollars. Eight thousand
of this was given one Sunday.
We are appealing to the bro-
therhood for help in raising the
balance. WONT YOU HELP US!
A contribution from you of any
amount will be highly appreciat-
ed and immediately acknowledg-
ed.

in which there should be a thriv-
ing church. However, the progress
of the church here has been slow.
There are many reasons for this
slow progress. By those who are
acquainted with the conditions
here say it is one of the hardest
places in northern Indiana. Cath-
olicism and sectarianism are most
outstanding.
Too, this area happened to be
in the wake of the digression that
swept the church about a hundred
years ago, hence, there are many
strong Christian churches in this
area. The meeting house has nev-
er been conducive to building a
strong congregation, It has no
basement, no class rooms, no rest
rooms or baptistery; It Js prob-
ably the most outmoded church
building in the city. This is an
obstacle in reaching the people.
Recently the church decided to
