mayor. Public Utilities Supervisor
Everman reports favorably on the
electrification plan. Tboae who read
hi* report carefully wilt see from H
that his 1 L '
Hrong reasons why the Hobson jiro-
posal should lie accepted.
In the first place, it furnishea bet*
ter transportation facilities between
the two points and thus brings Den-
ton citizens nearer to the Dallas
market, a thing of advantage to Den
ton and to Dallas.
In the second place, the report
shows that Hobson and associates
will have to construct certain mile
| age connecting up tracks in Dallas
• with the Denton branch. Thus the
| street car service of Dallas itself wil
be extended and improved.
In the third place electrification tv
Denton may mean extension of th>
proposed interurban to Wichita Falls,
thus affording Dallas better connec-
tion with additional trade territory.
In the fourth place, Mr. Everman
gives cogent reasons why there can
be no abandonment of the Dallas-
Denton interurban after construc-
tion.
All these are reasons of solid merit.
Against them no adequate reason
has been or can be advanced.
WTiat Dallas wants is interurban
extension. It is not in the market
j for money forfeits, nor should it
ever be except when the forfeit is the
only course left.—Dallas Times Her-
