Within Sisterhood, Linda was Vice-president of Hospitality for
several years. She has served as co-chair for the New Member Event,
and chaired the Sisterhood booth in the Israeli section of the Hous-
ton Festival as well as chairing - and preparing - Rabbis’ Luncheons

Jewish community. Speakers were brought in from around the
country who specialized in the area of independent schools.
The topics ranged from “Building a Day School Vision for the
21st century” to “Admissions, Recruitment and Attrition: What
Boards and School Staff Need to Know,” and from
“Fundraising” to “Trusteeship: Accountability to Future Gen-
erations.” The BJE and Houston’s Day School leadership
joined together with PEJE (Partnership for Excellence in Jew-
ish Education) to launch this pilot Day School Leadership
Development Initiative that includes ongoing training and the

Achievement: Linda Katz Brandt. Linda
has been a member of Beth Yeshurun since
she was five years old and was married
to her late husband Gerald “Jerry” Brandt
