Elmer Samford, Battery C,
345 Reg. F. A., formerly of
Center, attended an entertain-
ment given the new recruits of
the 345th Rgiment, Field Ar-
tillery by the ladies of the Pros-
pect Hill Baptist church. The
recruits had a great time play-
ing games and making speech-
es. All this made the men feel
as if they were at home.
Luther Cox, who left with
the recruits for Camp Travis
on February 22, has just been
transferred from the 165th De-
pot Brigade to Battery B of the
345 Field Artillery. The 345th
Field Artillery Regiment is go-
ing to be a motorized regiipent,
using guns. Luther states'that
he thinks he will like that
branch of the service as well
as any he could have gotten in-
to.
