Messrs. Dudley Perkins, Tom Mar-
tin, Julius Purnell, Arthur Church,
and Rev. W. J. H. Petter attended a
meeting in Greenville Wednesday,
Feb. 27, to hear Rev. Wilburn Camp-
bell of New York discuss the work,
of men in the churches. Delegates
from many points were present and
plans were formulated for a closer
affiliation of Episcopal men in this
area with a view to wider evangeliza-
tion. Several mission, stations have
been opened recently under the direc-
tio nof Episcopal laymen.

to Washington. D. C.. after an extend-
ed visit to her parents, Mr. and Mrs.
(1/ E. G. Furr, both of whom are ill.
She also visited her sister, Mrs. Dr.
Houston.
An Irishman from a little town in up
slate New York once spent a glor-
ious two-weeks vacation in New York
City. When he went home he held his
children spellbound with tales of the
great town

manded, “when I didn’t care where
the hell I was ”
Mr and Mrs. O. E. Davis and sons

home from four years overseas.

Mrs. Pete Williams was buried here

The Methodist W. M. S. entertain-
ed the Baptist W. M. S. and other la-
dies at the. home of Mrs. W. E. West
Monday afternoon and also gave a
shower for Mrs. Tuckey Mack who
received many beautiful gifts. De-
licious refreshments were served to
35 ladies present.
Junior Campbell is spending his
furlough with home folks.
W. T. Hooten III and James Hooten
visited Mr. and Mrs. AV. T. Hooten
Jr. this week end. They left Sunday
for New Orleans. Mr,s. W. T. ac-
companied her husband.
