The new issue of the WABC Witness is in the newsstand today. Read what the Pastor
says about the life of Dr. King, the humorous side of Rev. Jeremiah Wright, Health Fitness
and many other interesting articles. Hats off to the WABC Witness Staff.
CHOIRS PREPARE FOR TRI-CHURCH FELLOWSHIP
WABC will host Olivet Baptist Church of Memphis, Tennessee and Mt. Zion Baptist
Church of Seattle, Washington on the third weekend of July 1997. The Adult Choirs are
planning for a big Texas-Style WABC weekend and the entire church is needed to support
this effort. The congregation can assist in several ways. Members are asked to make
financial contributions and volunteer to work on the various committees. In addition,
arrangements have been made with Kroger and Randalls for painless contributions through
the use of Kroger’s Share Card (may be obtained from Dwayne Bilton) and Randall’s
Remarkable Card (tell cashier to input #3292) where WABC Adult Choirs will receive a
percentage of all purchases. For additional information contact Dwayne Bilton at 723-
1089 or Juanita Nash, Minister of Music, at the church.
THE LAY PRAYER MINISTRY is sponsoring a 12-week course
on prayer. The class will begin on Wednesday, February 18th. The
class will meet each Wednesday at 6:00 p.m. in the Chapel and will
be followed by Wednesday Night Bible study at 7:00 p.m. Plan
now to attend the class on prayer and remain for Wednesday Night
Bible study. The course on prayer will be taught by Rev. J. L.
Cashaw and other members of the Prayer Council. The textbook for the course is entitled
“The God Who Hears” by W. Bingham Hunter. Please place your order now through the
WABC book stand in the McNair Activity Center. Mrs. Lillie Bums will receive your
order.
ARE YOU EXCITED ABOUT LIFE? Young Ambassadors for Christ (YAC) is pleased
to present a seminar featuring Arthur L. Andrews, an empowerment specialist, who is
dedicated to helping people recognize the blessings of life. This seminar, entitled,
“Awaken the Power Within” is a thought-provoking interactive discussion about principles
for success and personal development. Keep February 17th open on your calendar and get
