The results are in from our local VFW
writing contests, better known as Voice of
Democracy and Patriot's Pen and congrat-
ulations go out to 1st place winners Cara
Pascarella for Voice of Democracy and
Lindsey milner for Patriot’s Pen!.
Pascarella will receive a $1000 scholar-
ship and Milner will receive a $100 sav-
ings bond.
These ladies were competing against
entries from several other schools in the
area, so this is quite an achievement. It is
very impressive that both first place
awards came from our school. If you see
these ladies, let them know how proud you
are of them!

While there, Megan and Bethany took in all the
sites as they toured the campus.
Along with how the student council is facilitat-
ed on the UT Campus, they were shown what it
would be like to be on the student council at a
larger school. There were fun games to play and
the students had the privilege of interacting with
other scholars from various schools around the
state. They were shown just exactly how important
it is to get involved in your community and what
I a difference one person can make. Megan Torres
| emphasized this point by saying, “It gave me an
I idea of what student life would be like on a large
j campus and really accentuated the importance of
| being involved." To say the least, it was a very
I educational and enlightening experience for
I those who attended.
