A regular meeting of the Beard of Trustees of Congregation
Adath Yeshurun -was called to order in the Hebrew Institute Building,
917 Jackson Street, Houston, Texas, at 8:30 P.M., Monday, June 4, 1934
The Roll was called reflecting the following nineteen members present:
Under new business,
A letter was also read from Mr. Ben Hurwitz addressed to Vice-President
Streusand calling attention to ball games played by the Hebrew School students
am. the synagogue grounds, whereby the boys are compelled to run into the street
to XBsaaqsfacEH retrieve the ball, thus placing themselves in great danger of
accident and probable loss of life from heavy traffic on that thoroughfare.
Mr. Streusand*s reply was also read in which he thanked Mr® Hurwitz for
bringing this matter to the Board’s attention*and assuring him that proper
action would be taken. After some discussion it was resolved that this matter
be passed to Mr® Shapiro, Chairman of the Hebrew School Committee, with th©
request that he take the necessary steps to correct this situation®
iz The Secretary also read a letter from Mr. Solomon, Corresponding Secretary
Of Houston Chapter, Hadassah Society, wherein she requested that the Hadassah
Society be permitted to use the Insitute Building without charge for their
future meetings. The Secretary was instructed to inform Mrs® Solomon that
this request be submitted to the Sisterhood who had charge of the Hebrew
Institute Building®

Minutes : of the previous meeting held on Monday, May 7th,
and duly. approved®
Th® Board was given to understand that the Wife of one of its Trustees,
Mr. Ab® Levy, had suffered a recent bereavment, and the Resolutions Committee
was instructed to ascertain the nature of this bereavment and to forward
suitable condolences. It was reported that Miss Janette Mandell, one of
