F. F. A. STUDIES
The Whitewright Chapter of F. F.
A. will begin studying parliamentary
procedure in the next few days.
The boys will drill on problems in
opening and closing a regular chap-
ter meeting and on how to carry out
business. The boys making the high-
est grades will become members of a
team which will go to Denton to en-
ter the contests there,
be a greenhand team.
This type of study is useful to ev-
eryone, not just the F. F. A. boys.—

The F. H. A. Club and the senior
class have ordered some plastic lapel
pennants with the word “Tigers”
printed in gold. A black and gold
ribbon and a small football hang
from the pennant. These can be
worn in the following years and will
cost only 35c. The profit will be di-
vided between the F. H. A. Club and
the seniors.
The first week in November will
be F. H. A. Week. Plans are now be-

QLARTER-CENTURY MAN—Paul Cook, left, is shown here receiving
a gold wrist watch from R. L. Bowen of Fort Worth, president and gen-
eral manager of Community Public Service Company, for 25 years
of unbroken service with the utility firm. Cook, who is superintendent
of Community’s Whitewright power plant, has been assigned to this
plant during his entire term of service, although he has had special as-
signments in many other towns served by Community. Presentation of
the award was made at a dinner which followed a business meeting for
Community Public Service employees in Northeast Texas, at the Gray-
son Hotel in Sherman on October 15.

AGRICULTURE PROGRAM
OF WORK
The agriculture boys have outlined
their program of work for the year.
There were eight committees, one for
each of the following topics: Leader-
ship, earnings and savings, commu-
nity service, recreation, conduct of
meetings, cooperative activities,
supervised farming, and scholarship.
Leadership pertains to parliamen-
tary procedure and advancement of
members to higher degrees. Earnings
and savings refers to practicing
thrift. Community service consists
of pruning trees and repairing farm
machinery. Recreation includes
western week, parties, and summer
encampments. Conduct of meetings
deals with the plans for meetings and
chapter paraphernalia. Cooperative
activities means to cooperate with
chapters from other schools. Super-
vised farming is the plan for each
boy to follow during the year. Schol-

The F. H. A. Club recently bought
a record player and a very nice car-
rying case. Then Mrs. Blanton took
some of the girls to select records.
They chose the Glen Miller album,
the Music for Dining
several other records.
