First Baptist Church
The Daily Vacation Bible School
of the First Baptist Church has
reached an all-time height with
over 200 enrolled in the school.
The Commencement exercises ,will
be given next Friday night in the
church sanctuary. The public is in-
vited to see and hear a review of
the entire school. The pastor says,
“I believe this is the best school
in every way I have ever seen con-
ducted. We are grateful to Mrs.
Pitzer and her associates who have
been so faithful in making this
school possible. We are expecting'
many converted through the
school and these with others will
be baptized into the church mem-
bership next Sunday night. We
not only invite but urge your pres-1
ence Friday night for the School
Commencement exercises.
Vacation time is a hard time
on the church life. We seem to
forget that the church must go
on in our absence. There is noth-
ing wrong in taking a vacation,
our Lord did that, but we should
make provisions for oui- tithes and
offerings to represent us in our
absence. You will, not be happy
vacationing on God’s Tithe. Pray
for your church in your absence
and attend some other church on
youi’ way if possible.
An evangelistic sermon will be
preached at both services of the
church next Sunday. You are wel-
come.

Christian Science
Services
Complete peace and harmony in
our daily affairs is the natural
and normal result of acknowledging
God as the only creator. This point
is stressed in the Lesson-Sermon
titled “God the Only Cause and
Creator” to be read in all Chris-
tian Science churches on Sunday,
June 8. The Golden Text asks:
“Have we not all one father? hath
not one God created us?” (Mala-
chi 2:10).
Man’s relationship to his crea-
tor is emphasized in the follow-
ing Psalm to be read from the
King James Version of the Bible:
“The Lord is nigh unto all them
that call upon him, to all that
call upon him in truth” (Psalms
145:18).
Further explaining the allness
of God, good, are these words
from the Christian Science text-
book, “Science and Health with
Key to the Scriptures” by Mary
Baker Eddy: “There is but one
primal cause. Therefore there can
be no effect from any other cause,
and there can be no reality in
ought which does not proceed
from this great and only cause.
Sin, sickness, disease, and death
belong not to the Science of be-
ing. They are .the errors which
presuppose the absence of Truth,
Life, or Love” (p. 207).
