The Past Oracle Club met Mon-
day night in the home of Mrs.

A short business meeting was
held and Mrs. K. E. Kmciicn led
the closing prayer.

Receives Award

Today's session of the annual
meeting of the Texas Home Dem-
onstration Association will lie high-
lighted by the election of officers.
Yesterday the association an-
ncunced the iu.1 i Woman of The
Year. The award went to State
Senator Nevcille Col on of Nava-
sota. The vice president. Miss Sal-
lie Davis, made the presentation
to Mrs Colson. She is the lwth
Texas woman to receive the award
since the lirst certificate was pre-
sented in 1938
Miss Davis called the Navasota
Senator one ol the leaders lu Tex-
as farm legislation pointing to her
authorship of the larni to market
road laws.
