Dear Brother and Family:
I will try to write you all a

more than a week but doesn’t

fine, only have a sore heel and they
never pay any attention to that in the
army. Brother Jim has gone on a 7
daj pass to one of the big towns of
France. It is on the line of France
and Italy. I have all the writing to
do while he is away so today is Sun-
day, I have taken it for writing let-
ters.

will be but hope soon a.ij think it will
be. Our artille-v has already gore.
Ae had a big .varade and inspecticn
yesterday and that locks pretty good
in our favor. I can’t see ’hat we are
doing any good over here, but there
are lots of things that ,ve can’t see
but we want to go home just the same.
We landed in France six months
ago the .30th of this month and if ever
I get back home I am going to rest
up awhile and then go to work and
settle down for life. I think I have
all the running around that is com-

I want and wouldn’t take a million
dollars for it and wouldn’t give L

see you all early in the spring when
