son, reporter; Mrs. A. D. Martin,
parliamentarian; and Mrs. G. L.
Hanke, historian.
New business was called for.
A motion was made and second-
ed that the P.-T.A. pay $57.25,
which was one-fourth of the doc-
tor bill of Peggy Sue Smiley, a
colored school girl, who under-
went a tonsillectomy. The mo-
tion carried unanimousy.
The room count was taken.
There was a tie between Miss
Commons' fourth grade and Mrs.
Payne's fifth grade. A motion
"was made and seconded that each
room be paid $3.00. The motion
'carried unanimously.
Mrs. Jack Douglass was ap-
pointed to serve in the place of
Mrs. A. R. Mancille, who has
moved, on the committee of five
to secure the needs of each
teacher and to submit, next meet-
ting time, some ideas for a pro-
ject.
The Camp Fire Girls, spon-
sored by Mrs. Arvel Wilson and
Mrs. Buforcl Cathey. presented
the program, which was enjoyed
by all. An award was given to
the Camp Fire Curls from the
March of Dimes.
A motion was made and sec-
onded that the meeting adjourn
until the next meeting date.
There were 54 present.

Glory school on Friday night,

j A chicken supper, sponsored
by the freshman class, was
served to a goodly number
from 5:30 to 7:30 P.M. The
food was prepared by the
mothers of the freshmen, and
other helpers.
There was fun for all as each
class sponsored a fund-raising
project. The students and
teachers, as well as the parents
and citizens here, wish to ex-
press their thanks to all who
contributed in any way to this
successful event.

were the lucky recipients of a
beautiful quilt, which was pre-
sented to the grade school to be
sold as a fund-raising project,
by the Variety Club. Mrs.

tarium. a victim of ear and eye
infections.
Grade school students who at-
tended won a trophy in the
Rule tennis tournament recent-
ly were Beverly Garner, Nancy
Vahlenkamp, Helen Lowack and
Charles Diers. Congratulations
to these youngsters.

election last Saturday. A light
vote was cast and two unopposed
candidates, Miton Dudensing and
Ansel Sawyers, were re-elected.
Work has bgun on the grade
school spring program, "Dolls
and Dreams", which will be
presented on April 29th in the
school auditorium.
Mrs. Howard Smith of Syl-
vester, a former resident of Old
Glory, and Mrs. Jimmy Coy
shared honors at a double "pim
and blue" shower at the home
of Mrs. Beno Herttenberger on
Tuesday afternoon. Twenty-two
guests were registered.
Guy and Jill Callicoatte of
Midand have spent the week
here with their grandparents,
Mr. and Mrs. Delos Callicoatte
and Mr. and Mrs. Charlie Letz.
The Letzes took them home.

PICNIC AT OLD GLORY HALL
The Germania Mutual Aid As-
sociation, Local 90, held its an-
nual basket dinner picnic on
Saturday, April 2, at the Sons
of Herman Hall, east of Old
Glory. A large crowd attended
and enjoyed the affair. People
(came from "all over". Guest
speaker was the Hon. Judge
Ben Charlie Chapman of Has-
kell.

regional school board workshop,
held in Wichita Falls on March
