the November 7th meeting, there

Food Demonstrator." and Mary

Although I didn’t get to reachT
all my goals this year, I did en-
joy being demonstrator for my
club. We built a new cellar this
year arid I learned that the
shelves should be slatted so that
| the air could circulate better
| through the canned foods. Too,

have two ventilators so that the
air could circulate better. I
.want to say Jhat I really appre-
ciated this fifelp. I canned 400
quarts of fruit and vegetables in
1941. Miss Michie tested my
pressure cooker before canning

I've really enjoyed being in a
hoihe demonstration club. I wish
every housewife could be a club
member where she could learn
so many new things about home-

district adopted the policy of "
providing assistance to farmers
and ranchers only fti fairlj! large'
groups of farms or ranches, pre-
ferably on small watersheds.
Such areas are known. |s Pri-

solid blocks a more effective job
of controlling erosion and pre-
venting flood damage may be
The supervisors are now
in a limited number of priority
areas throughout the district.
One watershed or approxi-
mately 6,000 acres on Pecan
Creek northeast of Gainesville
has been designated as a prior-
ity. area and soils mapping in
the block is well under way. ,
At the head of Denton Creek,
southwest of the town of Mon-
tague, considerable interest has
been shown by farmers who held
a meeting at Long Star school
Monday night for the purpose
of discussing a proposed prior-
ity area* and making application
to . the district supervisor for as-
sistance. in conservation work.
