industrial fund that brought the

When money was. raised to
build the factory in Bowie the
fund lacked thirty thousand dol-
lars of reaching the goaf. The'
Chamber of Commerce agreed to
pay the interest on the money if
the First National Bank would
loan the money to the Industrial
Foundation. The loan was made
and the Chamber of Commerce
pay interest bn the balance of
the loan each year. . '
The loan has' been reduced by
the Texas Dress Corp, from
(30,000 to $12,000 ,so the interest
payments arc getting smaller
each year. As soon as tftis 'loan
is paid off, payments from the
Texas Dress Corp, will be paid to
those whir put up money for the
factory. The Texas Dress Corp,
has never missed any payments
which are $500 per month.
Other Activities
Other activities of the Bowie

An effort is constantly being
made to interest other industries
in locating in Bowie. The Cham-

industrial site in 1957 at a cost of
$1,130.15. It is a five acre plot of
ground between the two rail-
