The bride is the daughter of
Mr. and Mrs. W. L. Tarver of
Bowie, and the groom’s parents
I are Mr. and Mrs. W. L. Jeffries
of Newport.
For the ceremony, an arch of
greenery, complimented by 20
- candles;—rose —above— the altar,
which was flanked on each side
by baskets of white gladioli and
candelabras.
Mrs Raymon Western, soloist,
and Mrs. Nelda Merrette, organ-
isi, presented the nuptial piusic.
Given in marriage by her fath-
er, the bride wore an original
grown of white chantilly lace
(over tulle and taffeta made by.
I her mother. The lace was scollop,
ed and draped into an apron ef-
fect giving fullness to each side
with white tulle roses down the
front of the apron. The lace
sleeves extended down over the
wrists. She wore a fingertip veil
of illusion which fell from a
whitg pearl tiara. Her bouquet
Was a white orchid surrounded
by Vanda orchids. ’
Miss Sylvia Hamilton attended
I the bride as maid of honor. She
; was attired in a dress of orchid
I orgapdy over taffeta, designed
wih puff sleeves. She wore a bow
hat, orchid shoes, and carried a
white fan covered with Vanda
orchids.
Bridesmaids were Miss Linda
Rarsteter and Miss Maxine Wells
who wore dresses identical to
tliat of the maid of honor, and
Carried white fans.

lis Gray and Miss Marjorie Gray.

Fellowship Hall of the church
after the wedding. The bride’s
table featured a white net cloth
over satin centered with an ar-
rangement of asters and ’silver
candelabras.
— Mrs. Ray Buffington registered
the guests. Miss' Phyllis Gray
served punch and Miss Marjo'ie
Gray presided at the four-tiered
wedding cake.
The couple both graduated
from Bowie High School where
they took active parts in school
activities. She was a cheerleader
for two years, was in the band
and served as secretary of the
Distributive Education Club and
was also in the travel club.
. The groom was a member of
the football team for four years,
-track team, Future Farmers of
America Chapter, and the travel
club.
For a going away suit, the
bride chose a beige dress with
beige and white accessories. Af-
ter a short wedding trip " the
couple will make their home in
Wichita Falls where the groom
will attend Midwestern Univer-
sity. .
Mr. and Mrs. Jeffries were
hosts for the rehearsal dinner
Friday evening at Cotton’s Cafe.
The tables were covered with
white cloths centered with white
wedding _ bells and orchid wed-
ding rings.
