We, the students of WHS, wish to

and the right to move to Regional HI i sportsmanship, excellent ability, and
by defeating Wolfe City 48-0 for Bi- u"’”'
district Thursday night.
The Tigers scored twice before the
Wolves ever had possession of the i
ball. The first Tiger score came on ’
the seventh play of the game when ,
Clark broke around left end for 51|
yards and a touchdown. ””
after was missed and left the score: say, “We won’t forget you;
6-0. The Tigers kicked off and Clark
recovered the ball and, after only 12
plays, the Tigers’ big fullback, Don-
nie Lewis, went over from the one-
yard line. A pass from Walker to
Tillett added two points and the score
stood 14-0.
Whitewright again kicked off to
the Wolves and after moving for
first down, fumbled, but Sears re-
covered. This drive covered 46 yards
and 13 plays with Sparks scoring
from the one-yard line. The points
after were made on a “guard elig-
ible” pass play from Walker to
Charles Copeland. The score now
stood 22-0.
Walker accounted for the fourth
touchdown on a one-yard plunge and
kicked the extra point to leave the
score at half time 29-0.
The second half started with Wolfe
City receiving the ball. To the sur-
prise of the Tigers, they were run-
ning from a semi-spread formation,
and running it very well. Walker
killed this drive by intercepting a
pass on his’own 2-yard line. The Ti-
gers moved 98 yards in 15 plays for
their fifth touchdown, with Clark
scoring from the 4-yard line. Walker
kicked the point after to leave the
score 36-0, Whitewright.
The sixth Tiger touchdown came
after a short drive with Lewis scor-
ing from the 5-yard line. The points
after were missed, leaving the score
42-0.
As the game neared its end, the Ti-
gers were in a fourth down situation
and lined up in punt formation.
Walker took the ball and threw to
Clark on a screen pass and went 50
yards for the final score. The final
score flashed 48-0 in favor of the Ti-
gers.
