new appearance
That ‘new look’ in utility
bills being mailed this week by
the City of Mercedes is the
result of a switch in billing
services from a Harlingen
based firm to the South Texas
Computer Center at Edinburg.
The move was approved by
commissioners some months
ago, and city bookkeeping and
payroll transactions went on
line at the computer in past
months.
Bob Pullin, spokesman for
the City, reports that the new
bills are green and white, but
contain the same basic
information for the customer.
“We just want the public to
aware of the change in
bills,” says Mr. Pullin, “and
to be sure that people know
that this is the only bill they’ll
get. Don’t look for the old style
bill, we’re on the computer
now.”
