Notes

At bottom of cover: "You Are Invited To Join Us For The Second Fifty."

Additional historical context: Established in 1920, the bank offered drive-in, walk-in, and fly-in banking, bank by mail and a coffee shop. Branches opened in Godley and Alvarado and it opened an ATM (one of Texas' first) in Cleburne. Bank calendars, advertisements, and holiday cards featured artwork by Lex Graham and George Hallmark promoting the bank's Western hospitality theme, as did Lee "Pop" Myres - also the longtime spokesman for Wolf Brand Chili. Sadly, the "second fifty" was not to be. Board Chairman Lowell Smith, Sr. passed away in 1975 and was replaced by his son, Lowell "Stretch" Smith, Jr. When "Stretch" retired, the bank became Wells Fargo in 1999.
