MARINE WAY FOR A
WELSH-WHITE FLIVVER
By H. C. HAMILTON.
United Press Staff Correspondent j
-.
NEW YORK Feb. 2.—The an-i
nouncement that Freddie Welsh 5b j
willing to box Charlie White again !
for the world's lightweight cham-
pionship is enough to send the cold
shivers chasing themselves up and
down a fight fan’s spine. It is com-
ing too close for temperamental
benefit; someone might be trying to
put on tiie bout and use that
method of bringing it before the
public.
Charlie White isn't the man to
meet Freddie Welsh for the light-
weight title. He has had many
chances and not once made good.
On one occosion he tackled the job
over the twenty-round and made
such a flat failure of it that he
wasn't even considered when it
came to discussM.g the refer o’s de-
cision.
It’s too bad that White can’t
develop into a real contender for
Welsh’s title. But he can't and
that ends the discussion. He isn’t
aggressive enough. Undoubtedly if
lie got close enough and could be
induced to come out of his hypnotic
state long enough he would slip the
( Id left hand over and it would be
curtains for Welsh. But Welsh is
far loo clever and smart to permit
the left hand to connect with his
jaw. Welsh himself said after the
recent bout at Colorado Springs
that he would fight White by the
hour instead of by the round and
would guarantee to step sU over the
Chicago boy.
White is a great boy against any
one he can hit. If he can side close
enough and get his feet in the right •
position ii is within his power "o
crush the hopes of any liglitw e'gh's
But there are several lightweights
v. bo on- keep several iis ant
from White and - ill pet par him
with right and left hand blows.
He's just a l it too slow to ever
catch a man who is good enough
to wear the lightweight crown.

BODILY HOUSEKEEPING.
(■By Samuel Hamilton >1. D.)
The subject of drinking water with
meals has been misunderstood.
In recent years investigation by
means of X-rays the observations of
scientists such as Cannon Grutzner
Pavlov Fowler Hawk prove that an
abundance of water taken during di-
gestion is necessary in good bodily
housekeeping. To drink a pint of
hot water before meals is good prae-
! tiee and those suffering from a ca-
| tarrhal condition of the stomach
| will find benefit in adding about 10
i grains (one-sixth of a level teaspoon-
j ful) of baking soda drinking it an
! hour before each meal. Those who
'are inclined to hyper-acidity should
!dring slowly a pint of medium cold
i water two hours after meals.
; If your kidneys are sick or you
! suffer from lumbago or rheumatism
i at times pain in the back or back of
the neck take a little Anuric be
fore meals. This can be found at
any good drug store and was first
discovered by Dr Pierce of the Sur-
gical Institute in Buffalo N. Y. *
When run-down when life indoors
has brought about a stagnant condi- j
tion in the circulation—most every-j
one is filled with uric acid—espe-
cially is this so of people past mid-
dle age. This uric acid in the blood
often causes rheumatism lumbago
swelling of hands or feet or a bag- '
like condition under the eyes. Back- i
ache frequent urination or the pains j
and stiffness of the joints and high !
blood pressure are also noticed j
Everyone should drink plenty of pure!
water and exercise in the open air I
as much as possible. I have found j
that Anuric is an antidote for the ;
uric acid poison and that it will dis-!
solve the accumulation of uric acid i
in the body much as hot water dis-
solves sugar.—(adv.)
