Asks Enforcement
Of Oil Mill Order
AU8TIN. Aug. 17.—Enforce-
ment of a court order directing a
string of oil mills to close which
has been unexecuted for more than
ten years is sought by Attorney
General Claude Pollard.
During the administration of for-
mer Attorney General B. F. Looney
suit was brought in Travis county
against the packers alleging they
were owning and operating a string
of oil mills in violation of the anti-
trust laws of Texas. Trustees tc
sell the mills were appointed but
they were removed by death and
resignation.
Construction Begun
On 2 McAllen Homes
McALLEN. Aug. 17.—Construe- !
tion work on two more residences
was begun this week in the south-1
eastern section of the city. The'r!
cost being approximately $26000
raises the total of homes under
construction in McAllen at the pres-
ent time to $83500. This figure is
exclusive of business structures
which are under construction or
which are to be built in the imme-
diate future.
The new homes are being built for I
W. C. Carson and J. T. Rogers lo-
cal builders who will occupy them
as soon as they are completed.
WEATHER SUMMARY
Barometric pressure was some-
what above normal over the east-
ern half of the country and rela-
tively below normal over the west-
ern half this morning. Except for
scattered showers in Florida. Utah
and Arizona the weather continued
generally fair to dear throughout
the country since last report. Tem-
peratures have risen practically
throughout the central and south-
central states this morning but
were somewhat lower in the far
Northwest.
