[Letter from T. N. Carswell to R. G. Lee - May 18, 1949]
Description
A letter written to Dr. R. G. Lee, President, Southern Baptist Convention, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, from T. N. Carswell dated May 18, 1949. Carswell criticizes the Buchanan report; "My concordance and I are unable to find in the New Testament any authority for the setting up of a Baptist oligarchy"; he advises that the report "be permanently stored in a polar cache" which is comparable to the atmosphere "in Southern Baptistdom" that would be created if the proposal was adopted.
The Richardson and Smith libraries at this private Baptist university in Abilene provide materials necessary to support the research of students and faculty. They provide books, federal documents, maps, scores, recordings, and periodicals which are on open shelves and readily accessible to all.
