with Bishop in the line will, be
Herschel (Tootie) Roach and
Chuck Williams at ends, William
Hunt and Ken Blackshear at tac-

THE J-TAC—71
Bislipp Top
Won 15 US* Litters
By Jerry Flemmons j
The' old adage, "Good things
come in small packages," couldn't
apply to Webb Bishop, for Webb
is one of the finest athletes to
come to Tarleton in a long time.
Webb's G'2", 195 lb. frame has
aided him- much in his athletic
endeavors.
In high school, Bishop was a
four year-1 lettferman in basket-
ball, football, and. baseball. In
football, lie was an end and cen-
ter. -'He was first string all-dis-
trict his last two years. He made
the all-district squad his sopho-
more year as second team center.
The Hearne lad made honorable
mention on the .ail.-state team his
senior year.
This would be enough for most
boys, but not Webb. He found
time -to make the' basketball all-
district team twice,, and the all
Central Texas team his- senioi
year. . .
In the spring when every other
young man's fancy lightly turn-
ed to .thoughts of love, Webb's
thoughts turned -to • baseball, and
it seemed that he was concentrat-
ing' hard, for he made the baseball
all-district squad three years.
His athletic ability won . hij^Hl
full scholarship to the. University
of Tennessee, where as a fresh-
man he was noted the third -best'
end on the.varsity squad: For some .
reason lie changed his mind and
returned to Texas and Tarleton
State. Collegft.' ' i
During his first year of col-
lege football, he was chosen on
the first-team all-conference team
and on the" second-team All Texas
Junior College team. He gained
letters in baskethall .and baseball
