Glubs are joining with the entire .student body to support the
Student Body Trip scheduled for this Saturday. A pep rally will
be held at 9:00 Saturday morning to start the day's events. Tickets
for the game go on sale Thursday in the fiscal office.
Mrs. Cress Donates
Plate Collection
Mrs. Iloxie Cress Director of
the . Dining Iliill, has donated a
collection of. 3? plates to Tarleton.
The plates, representing many of
the states and some foreign coun-
tries, are mounted in the Dining
Hall.
Mrs. Cress, who was born and
raised in Stephenville, has owned
restaurants in Sweetwater and
Snyder, It was at the restaurant
in Snyder that the plate collection
first began. Mrs. Cress had a plate
mounted in one of the rooms of

their class pictures made for the

Pictures for class sections will
be made through the month of
.October, she said.
Persons who have not yet had
their pictures made are urged to
do so as soon as possible 'to avoid
a last minute rush to Miller's Stu-

More than 600 students paid the
$2.50 picture fee at registration.
Those who did not pay the fee at
.that time may do so when they go
for their sitting. The $2.50 pays
for the yearbook picture, one pic-
ture for the college news service,
plus six billfold prints,

through Saturday.

made are requested to pick up
their proofs.

This is how it all began. People
started sending plates from all
over the United States.
Mrs, Cress, an ex-student of
Tarleton, talked to school officials
about donating the plates this
year. Her offer was accepted and
the plates were mounted last
month. Mrs. Cress urges any stu-
dent who would like to add to the
collection to do so.

Civil Service Man
Visits TSC Campus
A representative from the Unit-
ed State Civil Service Commission
will be on campus today, October
27, from :30 a.m. until 4 p.m.
He is interested in interview-
ing' seniors who plan to graduate
in 1904-05 and who might be in-
terested in going to work for the
federal government. He will be in
Conference Room A of the Tarle-
ton Center.
Juniors and sniors are invited
to talk with the representative.
Campus Club
Meets Today
For Program
Mrs. Paul A. Cunyus will serve
as leader for the Tarleton Campus
Club at their regular meeting to-
day.
Theme for the program is "Keys
for Understanding International
Clubs." International students en-
rolled at Tarleton will be special
guests for the meeting.
Dr. Went*; Ferenbach, associate
professor of social sciences, will
review the book "Foreign Affairs
and You," by Andrew H Berding.
John Cunyus, son of Dean and
Mrs. Paul A. Cunyus, will furnish
music for the prog-ram.
TODAY
The class officers' and Student Council Representatives'
pictures will be mails today, October 27. Freshman and soph-
omore class officers' and Student Council Representatives'
pictures will be made at 12:00 and junior and senior officers'
and Student Council Representatives' pictures will be made
at 12:30.
The pictures will be made on the library steps. Dress will
be casual.
John Arnett, president of the ju;nior class, has called a
meeting; of the clasp today, October 27, at 12:30 p.m. in the
Ag. Auditorium.
WEDNESDAY
The Tarleton FFA will hold their next meeting tomorrow,
October 28, at 6:00 p.rii. in the Ag. Auditorium, All members
are urged to attend.
THURSDAY
A pep rally will be held this Thursday night at 10:00 on
the slab behind the Tarleton Center. All students are urged
to attend this special pep rally for the Student Body Trip,

The Student Body Trip for 1964
will begin Saturday morning at
9:00 with a pep rally in front- of
the TSC Dining Hall. From all in-
dications, the six TSC cheerlead-
ers have several special events
planned for this rally.
Although the original plans for
the trip have been canceled be-
cause of the lack of student's sup-
port, plans are how being "com-
pleted for a large group of stu*
dents to -make their way. to Abi-
lene in private ears. -
Tickets for the game will bo
sold all day Thursday and Friday
and Saturday morning in the fis-
cal office. Price of the tickets will
be $1.00
Students will be required to at-
tend 8:00 classes Saturday, before
the remainder of the classes are
suspended. All students will be
dismissed from classes after 8:BO,
The. band bus is scheduled to
leave the campus at 10:00 a.m.,
shortly after the pep rally. It has '
been suggested by Student. Qoun-.

tive duties at Tarleton State Col-

Dr. Stuart Chilton has been nam-
ed dean of student personnel ser-
vices. He has been a member of
the staff at Tarleton State since
1954, and has held the positions
of registrar and dean of students
since 1957,
John Whiting, director of public
information, will take over as act-
ing registrar. He has held the in-
formation office post and that
of assistant professor of journal-
ism since February.
President Howell said the chan-
ges were being- made, "to distri-
bute the administrative work load
and better serve the needs of Tar-
leton's students,"
Enrollment at Tarleton State
was up more than 10 per cent this
semester over the comparable data
a year ago.
