Film At Wesley
"Death of a Salesman" the
third film in this year's "Dia-
logue with the World" film
series will be shown Wednes-
day, Oct. 19, 7 p.m. at the
Methodist Student Center.
Previous films shown this
semester are "Hud" and "Citi-
zen Kane." ■ . . .
A .series of 13 outstanding
films will be shown, one every-
other Wednesday, during this
school years. These showings
are open to all members of the
student body and faculty with
no admittance charge.
Dialogue with the World is
designed to allow entrance into
a more meaningful experience
of life through better under-
standing.

For use in this program, a
series of "intimate" films,
which examine the enigma of
man, his relationship with other
men,- with his world, and his
own self have been selectecj.
. The viewing of each film will
be followed by a group discus-
sion giving occasion for exam-
ining the film, the issues that
"it presents, and the viewer's re-
action to the film.
Tarleton Players
Discussion on the selection of
plays took place at the Tarle-
ton Players' meeting Monday
night.
The play selection committee,
Glenda Coburn, Kate Bauerle,
Tommy Patterson, Ellen Mere-
dith, Donna Rhodes, and presi-
dent Mike Zicarti, suggested
several plays.
. These plays reviewed were:
"Hay-fever" by Noel Coward;
'Light Up the Sky" by Moss
Heart; and "Summer Smoke"
by Tennessee Williams.
Plays adapting the works of
Carl Sandburg and the Edgar
Lee Masters' "Spoon River An-
thology" were also reviewed
by the entire club.
It is hoped that this meeting
will result in an announcement
soon of the Players first pro-
duction.
Seniors Notice.
Rod Davis, director of stu-
dent financial aid, has request-
ed that all seniors come by his
office and complete graduate
placement forms. The forms
.are used to enable the office
to assist the student in secur-
ing full-time employment upon
graduation.
Parking Lots
Mack Foust, TSC engineer,
has announced that the new
parking lots are ready for stu-
dent use. He noted, however,
'"tliat ■ in -about two weeks the
lots will be blocked again for
a few days to apply the final
coat.
Students are urged to go
ahead and make use of. the
parking areas until this time.
HANK THOMPSON —, APO will present country-west-
ern singer Hank Thompson next Tuesday night in the
Main Auditorium. Tickets will be $1.50 and $2 and can
be purchased from any APO member. ;;

the Student Council officially
selected Arlington as the site of '
the 1966 Student Body Trip.. The
Texans meet Arlington State on
Oct. 29. '
Plans for the trip include both
car and bus transportation and
a dance after' tke game at the
Holiday Inn in Fort-Worth. 'The
Redhearts will ' provide the;
music for the dance.
This year marks, the • first
meeting of TSC arid Arlington
in several years. They. come.

Places 2nd

Tarleton State placed second
in, the three-performance Na-
tional Intercollegiate Rodeo As-
sociation rodeo at Eastern New
Mexico University last weekend.
This was TSC's first try. as a
member of the Southwestern
Region, .
Sul Ross was first with a total
j of 330.5 points and Tarleton was
• second with 249 points.
, Other men's team placing in
the NIRA event were Midwest-
ern University with 237 points;'
Texas-Tech with 172.5 points;
•and New Mexico State Univer-
. sity 87 points.
In the calf roping event John
? Edmudson placed third, Billy
- -Albin placed fourth, and Terry
Walls placed fifth.

: the Ribbon roping event.
] The next rodeo will be Oct. 27,
28, and 29 at Panhandle A & M.
Alpha Phi Omega will pre-

Hank Thompson' and His Brazos
Valley Boys Tuesday night, Oct-
ober 25 in the Main Auditorium.
The two hour show is schedul-
ed from 7:3a to 10 with a 30

To Organize
A meeting will be held to-
night, October 13, at 7 p.m. in
the Ballroom of the Student
Center or organize a math club.
Refreshments will be served.
The math department is try-
ing to reorganize a Math Club
that has been inactive in recent
years. The department is hoping
for enough interested students to
reactivate the Math Club.
Any students interested in the
club are urged to attend the
meeting. If anyone is interested
either come to the meeting or
see the student coordinator,
Carol Wayne Pilgrim.
If the club is organized, there
will be guest speakers once a
month from. nearby industries
. and schools.

in' in Another Heart," "At the
Golden Nugget," and "Golden
Country Hits" to his credit.
"Thompson is a story-tellin'
singer." In one of his ' latest
alumns, "B re a kin' the1 Rules,"
he sings about "huggin ad Kis-
sin' you while you wear anoth-
er's name."
Everyone of his songs have a
story to tell, a story of the un-
smooth road to romance, the
build-ups and the let-downs, the
true loves and the not-so-true,
the facts-of life that make love
worth living.
Hank Thompson writes many
of his songs, "which gives them
an extra something." In addi-
tion to that other extra some-
thing—The Brazos Valley Boys.

es for the TSC band and Wain-
wrights.
. Bus tickets will go on sale this
week , for approximately $4.
Deadline for buying tickets will
be Saturday, Oct. 22.
Estimated times for Oct. 29
include a 4:15 supper in the Din-
ing Hall, departure of buses at
5, arrival in Arlington at 6:45,
game time of 7:30, departure of
the buses from the game to the
dance at 10, the dance in the
Holiday Inn from 10:30-12:30,
with arrival of the buses back
in Stephenville expected to be
around 2 Sunday morning.
Coeds going to the game
must be back to the 'dorm by 3
a.m.
Students are encouraged by
both the administration and
Student Council to make plans
for this event and make it the
largest Student Body Trip ever,
Fox Planning
Track Team
Coach Fox said he was in the
process of preliminary planning
for this years TSC track team.
Although too';early in the season
to know any details, he said that
TSC planned^ to enter the Mc-
Murray Indian Relay, the Fort
Worth Recreational Meet, and
the East Texas All College
Meet.
In addition to these meets,
TSC is planning an all college
meet here next spring. Coach
Fox said he would like to enter
about 10 events this year.
Currently about 15 atheletes.
have signed up for track. Coach
Fox said that some football
players woidd sign up after sea-
son.
Coach Fox has announced a
meeting for all boys interested
in trying out for the track team
at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 19,
in the Men's Gym.
Queen's Crowning Changes;
Corp, Dad's Night Set
j, The Student Council has
changed the basic policy con-
nected- . with the selection and
crowning of the Homecoming
Queen. Council members voted
to announce and crown at the
halftime of the Homceoming
Game,
The five nominees for Home-
coming queen will ride on. the
Student Council float during the
parade on Saturday morning
and be presented to the student
body at halftime. After being
presented, the que£n will be
recognized, crowned, and will
tour the stadium on the Student
Council float. A special" section
in the stands will be reserved
for the Homecoming Queen and
her escort, and for the mem-
bers of the queen's court and
their escorts.
CORP NIGHT
, The Student Council is word-
ing in conjunction with the; PMS
to sponsor a'Corps Night for
the home fpotball game on
Oct. 22. The members of the
corp will be recognized and
they will sit by companies with
their dates. The WW rifles will
also perform either before the
game or at the half-time.
DAD'S NIGHT
The Student Council will also'
sponsor a t'Dad's Night for the
last football -game of the year:
which will be November 19 in
Memorial Stadium.
The parents of each member
of the Tarleton Texan's football
team will be the guests of the
Student Council. These parents
will be recognized and intro-
duced to the student body prior
to the start of the game.
