Antique cars lead parade
More than a dozen antique cars wijl lead the
Tarleton Homecoming parade Oct. 29 which will
get underway at 9:30 a.m.
Riding in the lead vintage car will be Maj.
Laurence Culling, parade marshall, followed by
Lee Solley, parade chairman, and Stephenville
Mayor Joe Cummings.
Riding in the first touring car will be TSU
president Dr. Barry B. Thompson, Distinguish-
ed Alumnus Maj. Gen. James H. Watkins, and
distinguished Faculty Dr.O.A. Grant.
The second touring car will carry Distinguish-
ed Alumnus Jerry Flemmons, his son, Chris,
Alumni Association president Christi Lucks-
inger and president-elect Les Daniell.
The first depot hack will carry Hall of Famers
Tally Neal, James Coble, Jim Britt, represen-
ting his father Jimmie Britt, Ernie Pannell, and
Theon Thetford.
The second depot hack will carry Dr. O.H.
Frazier, Jr. and Marilyn Frazier Casy,
representing their father Coach Oscar Frazier,
and Harmon White, representing the late Zelna
Compton.
The third depot hack will carry Tarleton stu-
dent body president Mark Kaiser and vice
presidents Rusty Jergins, Todd Searcy, and
Scott Goleman.
Approximately 75 entries, including 18 floats,
have already been received by the Tarleton
Military Department for the parade with the
figure expected to exceed 90 by parade time.
In addition to the Texan Band and Texan
Stars, the parade will also feature the 1st
Cavalry Band and the 1st Cavalry mounted drill
team form Fort Hood.
