takes action on
accreditation
issues, attends
workshops
Dr. Dennis McCabe, President
of Tarleton State University,
recently took part in the 97th
annual meeting of the Southern
Association of Colleges and
Schools in Dallas. More than
3000 delegates participated in the
workshops and seminars, took ac-
tion on accreditation issues and set
policies for the regional accredit-
ing agency.
Accreditation is a non-govem-
ment and voluntary process con-
cerned with improving educational
quality and assuring the public
that member institutions meet
established standards.
Delegates attending the annual
meeting including faculty, admin-
istrators and educational profes-
sionals representing the more than
12,000 accredited public and pri-
vate institutions, military schools
and early childhood centers and
kindergartens.
Founded in 1895 and head-
quartered in Decatur, Georgia, the
Southern Association is one of
six regional accrediting bodies in
the United States and works with
schools and colleges in 11
southern states from Virginia
through Texas, in Mexico, the
Caribbean and Central and South
America.

The 5 on 5 Basketball started Monday. We had a great turn
out with the entry fees. There were 32 mens teams and 15
womens teams. It is not to late to get on someones team. You
will have up to two weeks to get on one of the teams rosters.
Come out and watch Monday - Thursday, we will be playing
at the Intramural Gym and the Wisdom Gym.
