Hereford Large and Wealthy.
The Hereford Brand is hot for
city incorportion. Unless you have
a very large and wealthy town,
brother, you had better let that
alone and organize your town into
what Col. E. M. Walling calls an
"Insanitary Committee" who can
clean things up.—Lockney Beacon.
Hereford has the above qualifi
cations and should be incorporated
at cnce. She has tried several dif-
ferent schemes of the Col. Walling
type and found them all ineffectual.
Night Watchman Needed.
As Christmas and the attending
fireworks proposition approaches
would it not be well for the citizens
to employ a night watchman to
prevent fires from emanating there-
from? A fire on Dewey avenue
would be a serious thing and too
much precaution cannot be taken to
prevent such a calamity.

Should Take Warning.
The city council is spending
several hundred dollars in gravel
upon our business and residence
streets. "A stitch in time saves
nine." If the town had have in-
corporated five years ago and prop-
erly expended it a dollar then
would have equaled nine now.—
Clarendon News.
Hereford citizens should profit by
Clarendon's experience in incor-
poration. Better spend a dollar now
than nine later on. It is but a
question of a short time when city
improvements will have to be male,
if we are going to prosper as a
town

Hinton as a confectionery and

Mr. Orr as a restaurant. When the

to be culminated by tomorrow) both
gentlemen will have quarters more
suitable to their needs. Both build-
