Geren, Cook named
for Baylor
Eddie Lynge, Allen High
School graduate of 1978 and
drum major of the Eagle
E scadrille for three years, has put
his creative talent to work again.
This fall, Eddie will take the field
as co-drum major of the Baylor
University Golden Wave Band.
The sophomore music major
has been in marching band for
two years, also this year sitting
as first chair tubist in the sym-
phonic band.
Eddie is a member of the
Baylor Chapter of Kappa Kappa
PSI National Music Fraternity
where he will serve next year as
recording secretary.
The son of Ed and Jane Lynge
expresses his gratitude to Allen
band director Charles Barton and
the entire Allen academic system
for preparing him to successfully
meet this challenge.

Now pursuing his doctorate at
East Texas State University,
Geren holds a master’s in educa-
tion and a bachelor’s degree from
ETSU. He also earned an
Associate of Science degree from
Navarro Junior College,
graduating with honors.
He is a member of the Texas
and National Associations of
Secondary School Principals and
a member of Phi Delta Kappa, the
educational honor organization.
Geren serves on the board of
directors of the North Texas
School Masters Club and the Col-
lin County Development Center.
He is also an administrative
board member of the First
Methodist Church in Allen.
Geren and his wife, Marelia, a
fourth grade teacher at Boyd
Elementary, have one daughter,
Lynn, age 7, and reside in Allen.
Jerry Cook has been with Allen
schools for one year as an Assis-
tant Principal at the high school.
Before coming to Allen, he spent
7 years with the Richardson
schools as a teacher, coach and
administrator.

He started teaching at
Westwood Junior High in
Richardson where he taught
English and coached 8th grade
athletics. He spent 3 years at
Richardson High School as an
English and psychology instruc-
tor and also coached junior varsi-
ty sports.
Cook assumed administrative
duties at Richardson’s West
Junior High School where he
served as an assistant principal
for 3 years prior to coming to
Allen.
He is /member of the Texas
Association of Secondary School
Principals, Phi Delta Kappa and
is active in the Church of Christ.
Currently a doctoral candidate
at ETSU, Cook received his
master’s degree in education from
ETSU in 1978. He earned his
bachelor’s degree in psychology
from Harding College in Searcy,
Arkansas.
Residents of Allen, Cook and
his wife, Patricia, are the parents
of a two-year-old daughter,
Amanda and are expecting their
second child.
