First Baptist Church here, is hold-
ing a revival at Belcherville thia
week.

this week with commencement ex-
ercises. The enrollment was 119,

These failures left many thousands of policy
holders without coverage; they left unpaid
millions of dollars in just claims; many more
millions in unearned premiums which can
Two persons found guilty of be-
ing intoxicated in a car were the
largest contributors to the total
of $325.75 taken in last week by
the Denton Corporation Court.
The intoxicated motorists paid
in a sum of $75.
Speeders were also heavy con-
tributors, 11 offender* accounting
for $55 of the total fines.
One person was convicted of
simple assault and was charged
$25 and two persons convicted of
driving without a license were
charged a total of $35.
Twenty-three persons paid $1
parking meter tickets while 183
offenders paid 25-cent fines.
One person charged with a dis-
turbance and one charged with
intoxication paid $13 each.
One person paid $5 after he
was caught making a fast turn
at a local intersection two per-
sons who ran intersection stop
signs paid $2 each.
Two persons who left their cars
in parking spots reserved for local
buses were fined $1 each.
Ramey is a past president of
the Denton Association of Insur-
ance Agents.
Dyer, who takes over his new
position the middle of July, is a
past president of the Denton Cham-
ber of Commerce and has been
active in several civic projects
here.
Dyer will be replaced as Den-
ton’s Lone Star District manager
by John J Crim, Jr. of Taylor
where he has served as Lone Star
District manager since 1948.
Dyer has been in Denton since
1947. The new job is a promotion
from Denton’s 10,000 subscribers to
Wichita Falls’ 28,000 subscribers.
The Budget and Admission com-
mittee of UF, headed by Ben
Ivey, has started its work, ac-
cording to UF President Riley
Cross. The Budget committee will
complete its work by Aug. 1.
Cross plans to call a meeti,
©f the executive committee this
week for preliminaty planning steps
in this year’s United Fund drive.
Cross also said that all agencies
in UF should begin sending in
their requirements and statements
of policy.

In Workshop
Miss Ruth Haggard of 835 Pais-
ley St., Denton. is among those
enrolled in the Reading Workshop
under the auspices of the TSCW
English department. Dates are
June 22-July 10.
The workshop covers problems
of developing reading programs.
Those enrolled will examine read-
ing materials, tour the TSCW Li-
brary, discuss oral reading, test-
ing reading ability, visual prob-
lems and special types of read-
ing. Lectures will be followed by
discussion, conferences, laboratory
work and observation of reading
class.
Afternoons will be free for in-
dividual work on projects. English
faculty members participating in
’the two-week workshop are Dr.
Autry Nell Wiley, director of the
English Department; Dr. Frances
Darden, Dr. Constance Beech, Dr.
Eleanor James, and Miss Agnes
