VOTERS' GUIDE 1991
ANNOTATIONS

Presidential Candidates
Many of you may not know my name, but you
probably know me from encounters in the
computer lab where I have helped students for
the past two years. Prior to law school, I was
plant manager for Chicago Title in Dallas, and
obtained my degree from the University of Texas
at Arlington by attending night school. I would
like to take a few moments of your time to tell
you why you should vote for me as
PRESIDENT.
In addition to my duties as President, and as
a advocate of the students needs, I will strive to
achieve the following goals:
1) ESTABLISH WORDPERFECT AND
COMPUTER WORKSHOPS
2) DEVELOP A STUDENT BASED SURVEY
WHICH WOULD BE CONDUCTED AFTER
FINALS EXAMS. TO ANALYZE CLASS
QUALITY. TEACHER PERFORMANCE
AND GRADE DISTRIBUTIONS. FOR THE
BENEFIT OF FUTURE STUDENTS
3) ESTABLISH A COMPUTER DATA BASE
WITH OUTLINES AND FORMS
4) PUSH FOR AN INCREASED NUMBER
OF AVAILABLE LATE AFTERNOON AND
EVENING CLASSES. WITH STUDENT
INPUT AS TO CLASS SCHHOHIFS ANT)
EXAM DATES
5) HELP EXPEDITE THE RE-FURBISHING
OF THE SCHOOL'S VISIBLE PUBLIC
AREAS
I am by no means a political "YES MAN" and
I do not like to take "no" for an answer. As
President I can assure you that the voice of the
student body will be heard.
I will also guarantee vou that I will not call
vou at home to solicit your vote. Each student
has more important things to do at home than
be pestered by a candidate. Such invasions of
your privacy are inconsiderate and disruptive of
your personal life.
I will be delighted to answer anyone's
questions as well as consider your suggestions
regarding the campaign at a time of your
convenience. Please feel free to come by and
see me in the computer lab or call me at 953-
1433.
THANK YOU
Mike

Tracy Moore for SBA President
If you want experience, I've got it. If you
want dedication, I've demonstrated it. If you
want effective leadership, let me be your SBA
President.
Experience
Last year I held the position of Freshman
Senator. Aside from my Freshman Senator
duties, I have also been involved with security at
STCL. I have been very active in increasing our
security and keeping tabs on what STCL is doing
to remedy this problem.
Dedication
I am dedicated to bettering the reputation of
South Texas among the legal community and
among our own students.
We have a great opportunity this summer
because the Texas State Bar is having their
annual convention at the George R. Brown
Convention Center. I will be recruiting
volunteers from our school to help host this
event. We have also invited the State Bar
representatives to hold their activities here at
South Texas.
As far as reputation among our students, I
think our administration is sometimes short-
sighted. They forget that students today will be
alumni in three years. The best way to get
support from alumni is to treat them with
respect and dignity while they are students. This
is the area I feel most strongly about and it will
guide my actions as president.
Leadership
I know how an organization should be run.
Under my leadership each committee will have
absolute authority to act. You will be electing
ten other people besides the president next
week. We will have a much more active SBA
with eleven people acting instead of just one.
I encourage innovation from the elected Board
of Governors as well as from the SBA at large.
Everyone's input is important.
Tracy
Moore
