There is evidence that blotting
paper was made in England before
other types of paper were made
there.
There’s a lot more wallop than youn normally
use in Ford’s new 202-h.p. Thunderbird Y-8*
But, you’ll find that extra power mighty handy
when you want to get out of a tight spot—such as
passing safely on crowded roads or on long hills.

This year holiday fashions spar-
kle like Christmas lights, and the
younger set will step out in rust-
ling taffetas, metallic brocades
and lustrous satins, many with
jewel embroidery and sequins.
Although there are some slim
skirts in evidence, juniors still love
their crinolines for parties, and so
full skirts and petticoats will be
much in the picture.
These achieve a new look with
the graceful and flattering long-
torso silhouette, fitted to the hip-
line, flaring below.
There also are some prophetic
high - waisted Empire dresses,
many of these dramatized by the
wide Japanese Obi sash reaching
from waistline to bosom.

DESIGNED FOR DANCING
Here are two typical junior holiday fashions. Left, glamorous separates consisting
of satin top and brocade skirt, part of a group of coordinates which also includes a
low-necked jersey top, tapered brocade pants and wide satin cummerbund. Right,
the popular princess silhouette in a luxurious pastel brocade, with tiny satin bows
poised like butterflies on the satin-corded seams.
