along with drummer Ross Pederson,
Fargo, N.D. senior, are on the spot
talking about life as a One O'Clock
celebrity.
Q: What is it like playing with such
a prestigious band?
Weiss: It's a lot of fun. People know
who the band is on campus but off
campus people haven't heard of it.
It's a lot of fun traveling different
places also.
Pederson: I love it. It's definitely
the best big band I will probably get to
play with. Especially since the whole
big jazz band thing is a dying art. This
is the biggest group of the best musi-
cians. Everyone is so young and eager
to get better.
Q: Have there been any changes
to the band this semester?
Blackwell: There are a bunch of
new people actually. I think there are
seven new band members.

The One O'Clock Lab Band performs Wednesday night in the Syndicate at the University Union.
Q: What benefit do you think you
will get from playing with a band
like this?
Pederson: It will make me ready to
handle any type of musical group the
world could throw at me.
Weiss: Playing in a group like this
helps de velop skills you wouldn't have
otherwise. It's cool 'cause you'll go to
another city and meet people that
played in the One O'Clock twenty
years ago. It's like a good of boys
club.
Q: How does it feel performing in
front of your peers?
Weiss: It's alot of fun, usually people
heckle and yell and stuff when you
have a solo. One of my favorite things
is my friends being there.

On the front page
of Thursday's edition
of the NT Daily, a red
arrow graphic with the
number 1057 was used
to describe record-low
SAT scores of incoming
freshman. That number
was incorrect. The
actual number should
have read 1073.
