McClusky from Marine Base El
Toro, California, are here with his
parents, Mr. and Mrs. J. W. Mc-
Clusky. Kenneth has been dis-
charged from marine service. They
will spend the winter in Texas.
Mr. and Mrs. Billie Hendon and
daughter, Anne. Mr. and Mrs. Jack
Herndon and Mrs. T. J. Ashley, Jr.,
were guests of their parents, Mr.
and Mrs. Huey Herndon.
Mr .and Mrs. Frank Boone en-
joyed a happy ocasion Dec. 1, when
they celebrated their sixty-second
wedding aniversary. It was a quiet
day with only the children who
were at home being present.

their home after a week-end visit

Cpl. Donald W. Tilley who has
been serving in the army in Korea
for the past several months, recent-
ly landed in Yokohama, Japan. He
will be stationed near Tokyo for
awhile. He is the son of Mr. and
Mrs. LeRoy Tilley.
Mr. and Mrs. T. A. Stroup were
guests last Thursday of Mr. and
Mrs. J. C. White.

tian Service of the Methodist
Church met Sunday night. The
Christmas Story was the theme for
both the adult and junor societies.
Christmas carols were sung and
the junior society enjoyed their
Christmas tree and gift exchange.
Miss Grace Samples of Dallas was
a guest of the society.

accompanied by Mrs. Ollie Hayes
and Maggie Mauzey of Dallas and
Ora Greer of this community, vis-
ited Cleve Giles and family of Col-
ony, Okla., and Mr. and Mrs. Wm.
Giles of Le Fors during the holi-

Poston Bounds carried the mail
on Route 4 while Mr. Chandler was
off. , . ..
Mr. D. O. Gray is doing fine aft-
er surgery on his foot that was in-
jured several weeks ago. He has
to go to Weatherford about once a
week for treatment.
Matilda Gray is spending the
week with her sister, Maxine Kiser
and family at Muenster.
The Franklin Club will have
their Christmas party at the home
of Mrs. J. T. Isom on Dec. 8th.
Mrs. Jim Lewis has accepted a
position with Sears Roebuck in
Dallas. Mr. and Mrs Lewis have
purchased a lot in Plano and are
building a new home. It will be
completed soon after the first of the
year.
Mr. and Mrs. D. O. Gray and
family spent Thanksgiving with
Mr. and Mrs. Ben Gray at Ector.
Mrs. Walter Hamm was hostess
to the Walnut Grove Club Nov. 22
for their annual Thanksgiving din-
ner. There were 35 guests to enjoy
the turkey dinner with all the trim-
mings. Mrs. J. T. Isom gave an in-
teresting demonstration on making
chair bottoms of sea grass. The
Christmas party will be at the
Community Center on Dec. 7th.
Armon Gibson of Weatherford
spent the holidays with his folks
here.
The Sunday School Class of the
Rhea’s Mill Baptist Church had a
weiner roast in the pasture on the
Walter Hamm farm Friday night.
Mr. and Mrs. Horace Hinton an-
nounce the engagement of their
daughter, Frankie Dee, to Clarence
Lee Paysinger. The wedding will
take place Dec. 18th at the Hinton
home. There will be a shower giv-
en in their honor at the Bloomdale
Schoolhouse Dec. 10th.
Mr. and Mrs. W. F. Hamm and
family attended a birthday dinner
at the home of Wilmer Hamm at
Navo Sunday in his honor. He was
able to be taken to the table in a
wheel chair. He is able to sit up a
little which is good news to his
friends. He received some nice
gifts.
We are sorry to report the seri-
ous illness of Mr. J. R. Mockbee of
Dallas, but hope he will be better
soon. Mr. Mockbee owns Honey
Creek farm that is occupied by Mr.
and Mrs. Chinnie Hamm.
Glad to report Sue Hamm is up
and able to be out some now. Hope
it won’t be long until she can be
told she is well.
Mr. and Mrs. Jerry Robinson of
Bryan spent the Thanksgiving hol-
idays with his parents, Mr. and
Mrs. Cecil Robinson.
Mr. and Mrs. J. D. Freeman and
Mr. and Mrs. Hersey Freeman
spent Thanksgiving holidays with
Mr. and Mrs. G. T. Myers at Enid,
Okla. Mrs. Myers was the former
Johnny Mae Freeman.
Misses Nellie and Faye Robinson
ate Thanksgiving dinner with their
sister, Mrs. C. L. Furr and family
at Rhea’s Mill.
Jerry Robinson will be dis-
charged from the service in De-
cember. He and Mrs. Robinson will
live in McKinney as he will be
with the T. P. & L.

Houston visited his brother, Alvin
Leigh, and family during the holi-

Thurman Woods and Miss Mar-
garet McBride of McKinney were
recently married at Durant, Okla.
Mr. and Mrs. O. W. Davidson
visited their son in Florida last
week.
Mr. Joe Horton received word
that his uncle, L. W. Horton, had
passed away Wednesday in Green-
ville. Mr. Horton and family plan
to attend the funeral services there
Friday.
Mr. A. D. Dean has returned to
his work at the Textile Mill.
Mr. and Mrs. A. D. Dean an-
nounce the arrival of a son born
Friday, Dec. 3, at the City-County
Hospital. The Deans have two oth-
er children, Doyle, age 11, and
Martha, age 7.

er, Mrs. E. P. Gifford.
LeRoy Tilley visited his mother
in Sherman Sunday.
Sonny Womble has returned to
Freer, Texas, after spending a
week’s vacation with his parents,
Mr. and Mrs. C. L. Womble, and

Mrs. Audra Samples had as her
guests Sunday her son, Royse, of
Dallas; also Miss Grace Samples of
Dallas.
Mr and Mrs. Paul Stroup and
family attended a Thanksgiving re-
union in Dallas last Saturday.
Mr and Mrs. Wesley Stroup and
Beverly, Mr. and Mrs. Lester Tay-
lor and family and Mr. and Mrs.
Will King were all guests of Mr.
and Mrs. Louis Whitt and son of
Irving on Thanksgiving.
Bobby Aycock of Farmersville
was in this community last week to
obtain the farm census reports.
Mr. and Mrs. Truman Armstrong
and children of Irving were guests
of Mr. and Mrs. C. L. Stroup on
Thanksgiving.
