els wearing the last word in
French fashions and remarked:
“Aren’t they gorgeous? Strictly
Christian Dior s. And girls all
over the country are going to look
1 just like that next fall—well, al-
most like that, anyway.”
Draddy heads the New York
manufacturing firm founded in
1905 by David Crystal, turning out
everything from sportswear,
dresses, coats and suits to men’s
shirts. Having a college daughter
of his own, he figured American
girls deserved to have some
Christian Dior clothes they could
afford.
He started a two-year cam-
paign of transatlantic tripe and
telephone calls which finally has
resulted in a new hands-across-
the-sea alliance between France’s
। most famous couturier and Amer-
i tea’s oldest garment manufactur-
i ing firm.
| “Dior to designing an entirely
, new line of junior fashions which
I we will manufacture and sell
I here.” he said. They wir carry
the Dior label, will be designed
in Paris and will be reproduced
exactly, even to the imported
fabrics. They are much younger
in feeling than the regular Dior
creations, and priced much closer
I to the average budget. We think

Beauty Of Rose
To Be Featured
In Special Week
The United States will observe
National Rose Week from June 9-
16. Sponsors of the week honoring
the world’s favorite flower are the
members of All - America Rom
Selections, the American Rose So-
ciety, American Association of
Nurserymen.
The purpose of the week is to
remind people of the wealth of na-
tural beauty in public parks and
gardens, and in the countless home
gardens of America. The week in
June was selected as one which
will find roses in bloom in virtual-
ly every section of the country.
As the rose is grown in every
state in the Union and, according
to a recent poll, is the favorite
flower of IS out of every 20 Ameri-
cans, it is only natural to pay
homage to the rose during Na-
tional Rose Week, a spokesman
said.
Many groups Including rose so-
cieties, garden clubs, newspaper
editors, park departments, retail
stores, civic organisations, service
clubs, florists and nurserymen are
expected to join in paying tribute
to the Queen of Flowers during
National Rose Week.
