A man in his early 20s was
fatally shot about 5 p.m. Friday
in the 200 block of West Francis
Street, according to Baytown po-
lice.
Detective Haley Hammes,
speaking shortly after the shoot-
ing, said few details were yet
known.
Shortly before 5 p.m. police re-
ceived a call about a disturbance
at the address. Shortly afterward,
another caller reported hearing
gunshots.
Hammes said the man died at
the scene.
Based on the preliminary in-
vestigation, she said, it appeared
the victim and his girlfriend were
involved in a dispute and he was
trying to gather his belongings to
leave.
The woman had two brothers
who were also present.
When the conflict turned phys-
ical, one of the brothers shot the
boyfriend, Hammes said.
The other brother also received
