The Lavaca County Com-
missioners’ Court approved
the purchase of a new am-
bulance at its meeting on
Monday.
Lavaca Rescue Service di-
rector Debbie Fishbeck said
the ambulance will replace
the vehicle in Moulton and
will cost $121,704.50.
Fishbeck said the purchase
of the ambulance is in part
being made possible from a
$50,000 grant given by the M.G.
and Lillie A. Johnson Founda
tion and a State Department
of Health and Services grant
of $35,000. She added that the
remaining amount will come
from the rescue service’s self-
supporting budget and not
rely on county funds to pay the
difference.
